Camera angle makes the gap seem a lot bigger, it's probably around 6ft long, you can see the shadow on the small steps

i'm looking at it more closely, and this is some seriously tricky optical illusion type shit. he's definitely taking off and landing in the brightly lit spot, but he appears much closer to the camera. probably because he's so goddamn tall.

The gap is the same width at any given point in the frame. No way it's as big as Wallin's ollie/kickflip, but it's bigger than six feet for sure.

Gnarly as hell though. Rad he can have a gnarly wallie and a huge tech trick in the same mag.

I think the issue is that you can't really tell which part of the gap he's skating.  He could be way further from the camera than you instantly assume because there's nothing to put where he is into perspective.  Sick photo either way.

awesome shot and trick but that photo is deceptive.  it's about as wide as a parking spot. sick photo though.

There are many reasons I'm embarrassed to have 200+ posts on slap; a lot of "guilty by association".  But the second-hand embarrassment I feel for a dude that used Google Earth to measure the length of a gap in a photo is overwhelming.

I'm not really sure what's going on to be honest.  The little water way at points at points is very narrow (like a leg on each side narrow) and at a small amount of other parts it is about a parking space (but no wider).

Most importantly ithey hit up Seoul, the amount of spots here is mind blowing.

I'm thinking they've used similar methods, as the photo shown in the bottom . #GodblessPhotoshop

Concerning the looks of the photo, in all seriousness, the photographer has most likely used a wide angle, and then chosen, in relations to using a wide angle, to walk far away. That's why the gap looks so damn big. It's "magnified" being close to the lens, but as mentioned, JJ is most likely leaping of and landing somewhere around where you see the light from the flashes, which is pretty damn far from the photographer.

But what a coincidence that Pops happened to be there btw. Don't get why they choose to edit him out of the original. :/

This is correct. The lens is quite close to the ground, while still retaining really good foreground focus (a shallow depth-of-field would break the illusion), thus creating an odd perspective (parabolic?). This works well because homeperson is tall as fuck.

This is correct. The lens is quite close to the ground, while still retaining really good foreground focus (a shallow depth-of-field would break the illusion), thus creating an odd perspective (parabolic?). This works well because homeperson is tall as fuck.

fucking scientist. why don't you just post a pic of your photography degree. I am going to start saying shit that i went to school for here soon, i didn't you could get smarter on here. . .

I like how I said I live there and posted photos of the spot and people are still have problems wrapping their heads around it.

If that was Chaz Ortiz this would not even be a discussion.

I can't really comprehend what's going on here. Is he landing off-frame? Is this even real? I'm almost questioning the authenticity of this, unless it's just really good camera work.

I'm not really sure what's going on to be honest.  The little water way at points at points is very narrow (like a leg on each side narrow) and at a small amount of other parts it is about a parking space (but no wider).

Most importantly ithey hit up Seoul, the amount of spots here is mind blowing.

I stayed up for four days with my protractor, calculator, and anti-mater confibulator. . . ok long story short, it is 1456 cm wide which is technically the biggest sw 360 flip to date by 3200mm. and whoever said "god status" is realistically a piece of shit, yeah you heard me whatever your called. troll me please bitch.

So this gap is just over 47'9'' and its the biggest switch 360 flip by about 10.5' ? Thats so crazy! I'm also shocked that the switch 360 flip before this was across a 37'3'' gap! ... And to think el Toro is roughly 19 feet long and people have trouble doing regular bs flips down it... crazy world!  ;D
