Clearly, pilled up Dill made this.  Seriously, you're gonna be in SF on 4/7, cross the whole country and be in NC on 4/24, and then cross the whole country AGAIN to be in Sacramento on 5/14??  That's the worst planning of a tour I've ever seen.

true.  Im thinking theres two reason why its like this. 1 the vans video comes out during the tour and they will be there for that. 2. shops schedule and planning I'm sure they are working with them on this. 3. they probably are just flying to a city renting a van hit a few stops then fly to the next stop and repeat 4. dill is just dumb

The real question is will Dylan be there? He was not at the scheduled Active x Huf Demo, even though his name was on the flyer...

I know for the 4/20/15 stop at EXIT, it should be cool, as the owner is really tight with Dill, AVE, and DILL, meaning everyone will probably hangout.

It weird though....when I saw this, I thought to myself, I am 24 years old, should I be getting this excited about a demo...not a cool guy thing either...just a thought (great song by Modern English too).

I totally agree. That is the main reason I think I was hesitant in the first place. As endlessly mentioned in past posts and to the people in the local scene, I like FA because of who is on it, specifically Dylan, Dill, AVE, Terpening and Sean Pablo. The other mates are cool, but I do not care about them as much. I don't like this brand because its "cool" or tied to Supreme...I like it because it really is just skateboarding and honestly absurd at times, which is cool and refreshing.

prob no pitch, earl has a show that night too at iron city. they will prob skate 1st ave spot and maybe the ledge and curb out front of faith for the demo haha. The Tuscaloosa park might be open then. That would be sick to have the demo at

ghetto banks and corduroy crocodile are prob the go to spots. liberty might see some action.

Na-kel also posted a Polaroid on Instagram of him rapping at Death Match. Maybe it's a couple of the FA fools rapping?? I don't know, just a theory... Cause I haven't heard of them coming to Sac to skate. I don't think anyone in Sac even carries their stuff.

Clearly, pilled up Dill made this.  Seriously, you're gonna be in SF on 4/7, cross the whole country and be in NC on 4/24, and then cross the whole country AGAIN to be in Sacramento on 5/14??  That's the worst planning of a tour I've ever seen.
[close]

[close]

hahaha, yeah all that makes sense.  it's just funny that it looks so fuckin scatter-brained.  it couldn't represent Dill's mind any better.
[close]

lol i meant to put a few instead of two. I'm just as dumb

heard from a reliable source that this tour is drawn up because it matches earl sweatshirts tour location, they're filming during the day and having shows during the night.

It weird though....when I saw this, I thought to myself, I am 24 years old, should I be getting this excited about a demo...not a cool guy thing either...just a thought (great song by Modern English too).

grandpa is the shit
and it's gonna be sick. I'm just not too psyched on having to deal with all the philly cool-guy dorks together at once

Hey, we're not all bad...

Grandpa's the best.

The fact that a company is touring with set stops at specific dates is a throwback, pretty much in line with the golden age of skate videos.

I still remember being 13 and going to see the World, Menace, and 101 teams come here to do a demo at a nearby convention center. This seems pretty similar.

Thats not really a "throwback to the golden age of skate vids".  In fact, I'm pretty sure that every company that does a tour has set stops on specific dates.  It's how people know where the demo will be.

The amount of kids we'll see at these stops with that stupid new style that's trending is gonna be absurd.  The bent inward knees and and extremely questionable outfits followed by off-brand cigarettes being held like they're a feather pen from the middle ages

I don't know either...What I'm hoping is the team splits into two groups and splits up the tour, might make traveling easier, idk, then release a video. Not necessarily a tour video, but they just film everywhere and later release a video.

Since the 90's are so hot right now. I could see them trying to bring back the crapy demo set-up. A not so fun box, wood manual pad, and maybe a 4x4 with some pvc coping on it.

Being only semi-invested in wanting to go see the demos (aside from the 2nd LA one potentially being the Vans premiere), I totally dig the humor in this and thinking of all the dick-riding fuccbois getting angsty over potentially missing a tour date makes it downright applaudable.

I suppose being a 2010's world is ok. It is just that, like Bianco Hardon, its all a bit half assed and lazy and was already done two decades ago... However Dwindle was putting out some innovative and interesting graphics at the time. Not just straight copying a pre-raphelite picture on to a deck. Wonder when all the Supreme kids are going to split to form their own company? At least Olson doesn't have that headache...

I love that board too, but again, I would love a board with Matisse, Picasso or even Bruegel work... It would have been way better if he used this painting as an inspiration then replaced the people in the painting with people from the team, famous people or something like that. There is no work here, and a lot of uneducated people will buy it without thinking about it.
I was really into FA at the beggining, but this brand is an apology of intelectual mediocrity. Element, Flip, Plan B may be shitty but at least they are not trying to look edgy.

And I totally agree with that:

"im pretty sure this isn't to legal"  live a bit bub.  WTF is wrong with the "PC" generation of today??  Complete wankers.

Generally there is no court, just a letter is sent saying to stop production.  These offerings aren't long term running graphics, they are one shot every season.  By the time the letter arrives the stock is gone and done.

The time of skateboarding that FA celebrates was largely ripoff graphics.  Read up if you don't know ya fucking nerds.
Well the legal thing is one point, the other is not making any effort into your board graphics considering your product uses the same PS Stix as every others except for the copy-paste graphic on it.

You have two things to differentiate your products from the other companies using PS Stix wood. One is the team and the other is the aesthetic of the brand.

For the same money you can push a brand with good team making effort into the artwork, or push a brand with a good team and some guy doing copy-paste from Tumblr/Google images.

Put your money anywhere you want but for me putting some effort and paying people into doing some artwork is an important factor before purchasing a board.

FA is not celebrating any skateboard era, they are just guys who are ok to copy work from other guys to sell a generic product and make as much money as they can. Their strenght is their team and the supreme print behind them.

And there's a difference between ripping off graphics or images to satirize them or putting your own spin on them (which the World companies did a lot of at the time) and just straight up copying and pasting other people's work, like Turtle Boy said.  I mean, I get the reference with the NY Islanders deck, but they didn't even change it to Gino's last name like the original version did.  They just straight up lifted the Islanders logo. How do you not see how that is different (and worse) than the original?

Like it or not 'laziness' is an important part of the game now.  Romantic notions of purity and originality are rightly being eroded by newer generations wiling to push the boundaries of socially constructed prohibitions limiting certain forms expression.

Appropriation in art is the use of pre-existing objects or images with little or no transformation applied to them.

The use of appropriation has played a significant role in the history of the arts (literary, visual, musical and performing arts).

In the visual arts, to appropriate means to properly adopt, borrow, recycle or sample aspects (or the entire form) of human-made visual culture.

Notable in this respect are the Readymades of Marcel Duchamp (leading to the films, paintings, gestures of Andy Warhol, Richard Prince, John Baldessari, Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Sherrie Levine) etc...

All of the above appropriated from the interwebs...  ;)

so, wait, what's the story with the fake tour?  make fake tour dates with no real locations, show up a couple days before said fake tour date, pretend no one showed up, and hope this results in FA looking like they just don't care?

the real "look at me, I don't care" move is to set-up full fledged demos and then just not show up at all.  or take a page out of Choco tour and just fake injuries at the stops and collect the dough.

I was pretty bummed when even after reaching out really geneuinely to multiple people on the tour, over multiple different media platforms , They never released any information about where they were going to skate.. They were in Milwaukee for the right date of the tour, but they probably had no idea that Milwaukee has a really fucking rad skate scene, and didn't know where to skate, so they went to the four seasons outdoor park, and of course no one was there, it's the most busted park in Milwaukee for sure... It's like, there's clearly kids reaching out to you that are stoked on what you're doing, and you're just ignoring them? I know a there's a huge fan base here that would have been so stoked to see a demo at our local DIY, or Cream City, but there was no information at all, you would think they would talk to the skateshop in Milwaukee that actually carries their product.. I COULD HAVE SKATED WITH LOGAN LARA!

You are an idiot and this post proves what happens when you "appropriate" something with no actual idea what you're doing or talking about.

Also, even if you were right that "'laziness' is an important part of the game now" and "Romantic notions of purity and originality are rightly being eroded by newer generations wiling to push the boundaries of socially constructed prohibitions limiting certain forms expression," citing Marcel Duchamp, who died before any of these guys were born and an art movement that began over 100 years ago does not help your argument.

oyolar, for someone throwing around the word idiot you seem a little confused.

What i wrote isn't really that complex. Duchamp's 'readymades' are considered the first instance of appropriation taken seriously in the art world and they prefigure and directly influence the work of all the other artists i mentioned. The fact that he died 'before any of these guys were born' doesn't negate or diminish this lineage.

FA's use of similar strategies might be dismissed as lazy or unoriginal but they follow an established and accepted artistic tradition that has (and continues to) produced legitimately good art. It's simply that the granularity of the medium has steadily increased (from say raw paint to newspaper clippings to an actual novel, in the work of Goya, Braque and Prince respectively for example).

There are a lot of people who still resist these new ways of working whether out of historical ignorance, romantic infatuation with the cult of originality or a stubborn reactionary bent, but progress waits for no-one my boy...

Not that FA and Mother are competing with each other, but comparing the two as AWS offshoots....in just the past 30 days Mother drops it's first offering and already seems like a much more focused and interesting effort, with an assured identity, vision and direction.

FA just seems rudderless...adrift in the hypebeast cosmos.

It's astounding the lengths people go to to justify FA's shit excuse for art and graphics.

What makes it even fucking lazier is that the only people who've had FA ads are ones who's names you can spell with the letters that make up 'Fucking Awesome' - "Gino's the only guy who's full name you can spell with the Fucking Awesome letters" - get a graphic designer you lazy dipshit.

When you've got AVE, Dill, Gino and Dylan Rieder on the same team and the company still blows, now that is fucking impressive. And this is coming from someone who's pretty much as close to their 'target market' as possible.

I don't think anything in skateboarding has dissapointed me as much as this company.

I've bought one FA board from Labor because of Gino. FA recently took away Labor's account for god knows what reason, perhaps the same reason why they didn't have it in the first place, which was proximity to Supreme. I'm just one person, but they just lost one person that will ever buy an FA board again.

Regardless of what the behind the scenes were the dude is obviously loyal to the shop and has more of a desire to support them then he does FA. I buy Slave decks but I also buy exclusively from my shop and if they happened to stop selling Slaves I'd just get something else, not go somewhere else to buy a Slave.

They must have been hungover or feeling lazy or something because there's tons of shit to skate in Pittsburgh, you just have to know where to look because everything is spaced out and you can't really skate from spot to spot.
