I have wide feet, EE wide to be exact.
I was buying addidas campus vulc for a number of years, but they decided to stop making them.
Does anyone have any recommendations for wide shoes?
-
People have mentioned the NB# Arto
-
I don't know the exact width of my friends feet but they are fucking wide and he blew out the sides on a shit ton of shoes. The Nike GT's have been working for him. You may want to give them a go. Also think he used to skate the Van's era a lot. He also skated a few pair of the Campus, so hopefully those suggestions will work for you
-
I appreciate it, they don't seem to make the campus, I won't wear the swoosh.
I will look for the arto NB, I like new balance in my non skateboarding life.
-
DC Matt Millers run wider through most of the shoe , the toe box isn't as wide though...
-
I just thought about it, have you tried the Adi-ease? The premiere ones look nice and they cost similar to the campus I think. They look like they may stretch to accommodate a wider foot in the same area too. Or the Romero Laced run a bit wider too.
-
getting ready for the kooks, but the Fallen Jon Dickson Pro model, the Roach, is a pretty wide shoe. one of the very few shoes i ever had where i didnt have at least a little pain at first. Emerica Provost, the older model. The Supra Ellington Vulc felt pretty good as well. Vans Era Pro too.
-
I have a wide foot due to bunions and a crooked pinky toe and I've had luck with emerica westgate g6s and Lakai griffins xlks, also era pros as mentioned above
-
I have wide feet and I copped a bunch of etnies maranas and they fit like a glove right away, super comfy.
I also bought these shitty dcs discounted, the dc pure, dont ever buy those for fuck sakes. I tried to break them in but its not happening unless I cut off my baby toe and shave off a half inch of my foot
-
started skating superstar vulcs and i cant go back now. Perfect fit for my hobbit feet
-
those Adidas match court feel wide to me if you're down for a toecap
-
The Reynolds shoe on Emerica is perfect for me. The Vulc is a little bit more comfy at first but hurt my feet if I skate in them too much. I buy the "Low", which is the cupsole version and after a day of wearing around they are perfect. In general a lot of Emericas seem to be a bit wider, the Leo Laced is another good option if you get a suede version. I have to go up a size in almost any other brand/shoe.
-
Dunks.
-
I second the etnies marana rec, got a pair on right now. I have super huge and wide feet and they fit great. With some shoe goo they also last a good long while too.
-
Emerica westgates, ive had 5 or 6 pairs they fit and skate great.
-
Idk about EE, but out of all my shoes, the Huf Aces are the widest ones.
-
I have pretty wide feet. The etnies marana (OG) and the DC Lynx have felt great. Just got my 4th pair of Lynx and I'm loving them.
-
Lakai MJ's and Hawks are roomie enough. Cabs and Eras work too but not Rowleys. Most Emericas work.
Find NB's, Huf and Adidas a little narrow and have to half size up or do the expand in freezer trick.
Just gotta be a fine upstanding local and go to your local non-chain store and try those shits on, if they fit then buy them not go to the internets and find the cheapest ones cause if you keep that up the store might not be there next time.
-
I wear a size 13 and have wide ass feet. The best shoes I've skated in a while in terms of wideness have been the Suicu.
You still have to break them in, they can feel bulky at first, are a hotbox, and definitely rip a hole in your sock when you start wearing them. Even so, I've had two pairs in a row and I'm pretty happy.
-
I have a pair of Huf Choice and I can spread my toes out pretty comfortably in them, curl 'em up like little toe fists too.
-
Thanks. I will check out the non nike options.
-
Can't believe I didn't ask earlier ... what size is your foot?
-
10.5 if the shoe is wide and good, 11 if I am cramming my feet into skinny shoes
-
every AVE model seems to have a really wide forefoot.
-
There is some really bad advice in here
-
Reebok has some shoes up to 4e width that are decent for skating
-
Also canvas stretches. The emerica winos are good. A lil shoe goo and away you go
-
es accel (the regular ones) feels really wiiiide
-
I have super wide feet and have busted the sides out of lots of shoes. Halfcab pros feel narrow when you first put them on but after wearing them around for a week or two they'll flatten out and feel perfect. Skating a brand new pair will murder your feet but if you just walk around in them to break them in first, you'll be all good.
Half cab pro's not the regular half cabs.

I am in the same boat. I have been looking for shoes for years. When I find something that fits my feet(30 years of skateboarding has left me with wide, flat feet) I will buy multiple pair. I am down to my last pair of DVS HUF 5s. I prefer strobel too...no vulc. And the shoe has to be deep enough to accommodate an ankle brace.

are we the same person?
I was wearing a lace up brace for years, almost 10 years, I froced myself to lose about 20 lbs a few years ago and I don't wear it anymore, but with age comes new exciting injuries, I am living with some amazing hip pain right now.
I only wear vulc becaus I can tfind cupsoles anymore. I would love to wear shes from 08-07, everything was really nice then...or maybe I'm just thinking abou the glory days.
-
Too bad Amazon's "Find the Right Size" button/feature hasn't hit all the shoes yet. It's pretty helpful if it's accurate.
DC Matt Millers run wider through most of the shoe , the toe box isn't as wide though...
Thanks, I'll try to remember this.

Ha! I think maybe we're just a demographic whom are under-serviced. I skate with about ten other older dudes who also complain about finding skate shoes that work for them.
-
Vans have always worked for me. GT blazers are okay but a little on the normal side of wideness. I usually try to pay attention to how far down shoes lace and where the pinch points are. The bottom of the shoe will usually tell you how wide they are but I'm no expert.
-
Great post topic. Been liking the Lakai selects recently. They're still kind of a slim shoe but still wide enough. Also, cant go wrong with vans half cabs either if you dont mind a midtop..
-
es accel (the regular ones) feels really wiiiide
My feet are hella wide and these are the only shoes ive never had to stretch out.
All the adidas stuff with the superstar/suciu insole (the big thick blue ones) are generally pretty wide.
-
I always thought the busenitz's were wide....
-
OG Manchester selects are pretty wide, and I thought the Busenitz OG Pro's were wide, but the vulcs are bit wider.
If you like Adidas's I would also try out the ZX Vulc or the Suciu's.
There aren't really that many wide skate shoes I can think of off the top my head (except for dunk's, and I'm not a dunk guy), and the best thing I would recommend, and the most obvious, is just going to your local shop and trying a few different shoes on!
-
Every time I read this thread title I read "WILD skate shoes" and my first instinct is to post either those Huf nurse shoes or Li'l what'shisname's from Supra. Weezy! That's it.
-
99% of skate shoes turn into slippers (except for half cabs) after a couple days so don't need wide ones. Just suffer through it for a couple days.
-

any good modern WIDE skate shoes, vans are not wide. I am wide up in the toe box. I need something.
-
surprisingly, the cons jack purcell fit my wide ass feet pretty well.

my feet wide. Sole tech, with the exception of the nick Garcia Etnies Jameson, are my go to. Es Accel slims fit great every time. I find the vans sk8 hi pro and half cab pro to be pretty roomy as well.
-
I'm incredibly old with the widest feet in recorded history. Shoe stretchers work well. New Balance makes a shoe that comes in EE (extra wide) called the 574 that can be found online. They aren't technically skate shoes but they do an excellent impression of them.

Just to let OP know, for me personally, accel slims are way too slim for my wide feet to feel comfortable.
Straye has some good wide feeling shoes :the Venice and Stanley are legit vulcs that are a little wider.
-
Pointed/ skinny toe boxes are so bad for feet. Especially while skating. Wish more skate shoes had normal or wider toe box areas.

I had those hitop strayes, sz 11 canvas and my foot was way too cramped. I ended up getting rid of them after one session. But sz11 es accel slims feel fine for me. They are my go to shoe. Must be different foot shape.

I really like the feel of Vans Half Cabs. It seems like after a sesh they stretched to the perfect width for my wide feet.

NB 212's and 868's are wide (normal sizing, i wear 10s). 533's are narrow (1/2 size up at least, i go 10.5).
-
Vans 100%, they didn’t even start out as skate shoes. They started out doing custom shoes for fucked feet. They make shoes wide as fuck, just go to an outlet, there’s a bunch across the US. There mall/corps stores sell shit three times the price, and u can always get pro shoes at $30 in strange sizes.
-

Does anyone have any recommendations for wide shoes?
Have you tried addidas shell toes ?
-
the lakai proto is pretty wide. id also suggest the dc legacy slim (called the slim because its not as bulky as the original). also whoever said jack purcell for wide feet is insane...all chucks are tiny as fuck.
-
I have very wide feet and have had a difficult time finding skate shoes. I recently came across Proper and their Conquista style and so far they have been great!

-
My feet are also pretty wide. Check my screen name.
Vans is pretty much all I wear. They tend to stretch and if they feel tight, I just bend them a bunch and the loosen up.
I’ve tried on the NB# Arto once, and I’d have to agree, they’re decently wide.
-
Anyone have an opinion on clearweather?
-
Shoe company sizes can vary significantly. My feet are big and I struggle with the right size. I had size 13 adidas busenitz that smashed my toes together, removing the insoles didn’t even help. Meanwhile vans 13 felt like clown shoes damn near falling off. 13 Nike Sb dunk’s, Air Force 2 and kostons work best for me.

I also have chodes for feet, and I 2nd this statement
-
D3’s are pretty wide, try them out.
-
Not sure if this had been said or not but the new janoski remasters are supposed to be wider. Not sure if that makes it good for a wide foot considering they were pretty narrow to start
-
emerica indicators worked for me
-
for the people saying nike blazers for wide feet, your crazy. ive got a pair of the blazer xts and they are so skinny, they kill my feet even just to wear for longer than like 30 minutes. skated them once and my feet hurt for days afterwards.

As good ole Ernest Borgnine said below...we make the AM574 in both D and EE and there should be plenty of options. They're in our All Coasts line for New Balance. Those are designed in our skate office but sold to a bit of a broader audience so not restricted to skate shops only. I don't know any shops really buying into the EE width, but you can for sure find some of the EE online (NB.com or others like Zappos).
Hope that helps. The 574's are suede so they really should hold up well for you, we did do a Westgate colorway on the Numeric side before we launched his full 913 pro shoe.

Just got a pair of the accel OG’s. I wear a EEE width shoe and they fit great. I highly recommend them but if you want to save some money at least on the frontside, because I cannot imagine them holding up as well, World Industries shoes have a similar fit. Vans slip-ons fit pretty well also but I don’t really like vulcs.
-
Pretty much every pair of Vans I've had used to pinch my pinky toe for the first few sessions. Got a pair of Sk8-hi's and not had a single issue. Must be roomier for my boat feet

Globe Sabre / Fusion / CT-IV
haven't really found any other shoes that can accommodate both my wide feet and unusually high insteps like these.

Always heard people complaining about this. I skated my first pair of old skools last week and it happened, my pinky toe is fucked right now. Never had this problem with eras or slip ons.
My Lizzie Slip-On pros are doing this to me right now but only on my left foot (and right where the ollie pad is).
I'm also still trying to find a wide enough cupsole for my apparently chode foot and can't find a single pair. My last attempt were the Adidas 3ST.003, they were close but still too narrow (the pinky toe area was fine, it was the big toe curve of the shoe that made it tight), even after flattening out. Prior to those I tried the westgate 913s, waste of cash there as they never smooshed out, still have them, in great shape (seasalt colorway, DM me if you are interested ;).

Adidas 3ST.003 | NB# westgate 913s
DC Mike Mo, Prod6 and DC Smiths were the only shoes in the last 5+ years that actually felt ok for me.
To make matters worse, the only shoes I find that fit well are workout / hiking shoes that have that 'wide toe-splay' toebox design; they're so comfy compared to skate shoes/boots/dress shoes/etc.
I own/used both the below shoes and they're ugly AF but comfy (note the flare on the out/pinky side, that's where I need the width and no skate shoes come close in width due to flik performance).

Already mentioned above, can confirm Dunks sides not boxing out on my feet (considered wide), whereas DC's pinky is scraping ground.
-
The Straye Venice and Stanley are both super fucking wide. I work in a shoeshop and get guys coming in with hobbit ass feet who say they can't find anything that doesn't hurt their feet, then end up walking out with Strayes and looking super happy about it. One guy in particular doesn't even like the way they look but he came in for his third pair a few weeks back, just because he can't find anything else that fits.

slip on pros, play around with different insoles

My go to is classic Half-Cabs, and a shoe stretcher. If I can find them used in decent condition, thats even better. Once they break in they're perfect. You can't stretch the PRO skate version of the half-Cabs though because of the Duracap.
-
yesterday I tried to skate in some Monarch IVs I bought for work and it made me wanna slap those folks that skate in Balenciagas and shit
anyway, my cheap new Nikes are not wide enough for my feet and are obviously a very poor choice to use while attempting advanced skateboard maneuvers
-
surprisingly, the cons jack purcell fit my wide ass feet pretty well.
Same. I have the Pro Suede Purcells and the One Star slips and I was pleasantly surprised to find both fit my clodhoppers nicely.

slip on pros, play around with different insoles
The new ultracush insoles in the slipon pros are soooo good in the heels tho..
-
I got problems with scrunched toes in most shoes. Got the Vans style 112, with fp insoles (can't remember which style). Before I skated in them, I broke them in by rolling it up and twisting it like I'm ringing out a towel, and they felt great.
-
Reebok Revenge with foot prick kingfoam insoles is the best width for my wide feet.
-
I wished I saw this before I got my shoes. Vans authentic. They're wide enough for my widest part of my foot but squish my pinky and jam the tip of the toe next to it.
I hate shoe shopping. Its one of the worst activities ever. my work shoes have that pinky side blown out.
-
Definitely not Blazers Xts, your pinky toe is going to suffer

30 seconds in the microwave, I was able to push the rubber toes out just enough to be comfortable.
-
I can't buy nikes, and those blazers look narrow and feel narrow.
-
Half Cabs. Skate one session in them and you'll be in business. People on here have recommended Dunks to me as well, but I've yet to try a pair.

Dunks have a wider forefoot but the sole narrows significantly around the arch. If you have flat feet (like me) you will need an insole with an arch. With the regular insole the rubber sidewall would rub against my arch.
I used these...

I received a pair of Adidas recently that were a little narrow and too short on the toe for some reason, so i threw these in my shoes for 48 hours and then they fit great. Mind you this only really works well on animal-materials like suede and leather since they have more malleable properties than most synthetic materials

I have a narrow mid foot but wide toe box. After reading several posts about foot stretchers i bought some. £15 off Amazon. They work. They will easily take a shoe up half a size, probably a whole size. Also avoids having to explain to your better half why you are microwaving your shoes, and then walking around the house in them with three pairs of hiking socks on.

Shelltoes for sure. The regular footlocker ones just put some real insoles in there. If you want to support a skateshop the newer non-vulc skate shelltoes fit like the regular ones.

I used to skate a lot of campus vulcs for this exact reason. Are you set on a vulcanized sole? I get heel bruises pretty easily now so I stick to cup soles and I skate the Campus ADV a lot. Same thing as the campus vulc just has a cup sole and a little more beef in the heel. Board feel is still great.

My Fellow Hobbits,
The NB# 306 Jamie Foy fits my wide-ass feet quite nicely.
Long version: My feet are wide and looking for new shoes takes FOREVER so I want to share my recent findings. But first here's a list of what has/hasn't worked for me in the past, in case that helps someone:
Vans: No Vans have ever fit, really. I'd love to skate half cabs but even going up to size 10 (too long) they are too narrow.
Etnies veer 9: This was a mistake; correct length but way narrow.
Etnies lo-cut 9.5: Great. Stretched out but not too much.
Etnies Marana 9.5: felt good, maybe a bit long, but I couldn't lace them tight enough to keep my heel from coming out.
eS Accel Slim 9.5: Good after a week of stretching out. Going a half size bigger would've made them way too long. Very thin for a cupsole.
SC Cure (not Pure) 10: DC runs small. These were very comfy, ot too long, got a bit slippery when the bottoms wore.
NB# 306 Jamie Foy size 9: I was surprised to find I slid right into the size 9, they're nice and wide in the toe zone. I almost went for 9.5 anyway just to make sure I had plenty of width, but 9.5 felt a little long. It's a vulc but the inserts are fairly beefy, seems good so far.
Post what works for you, size included, and maybe we can all benefit from the shared data. We hobbit-footed folk have to stick together!

Incredibly narrow and long. I've got a fairly new pair that I'm not even tryna skate anymore.
While they're not the best fr skating due to sucking up pebbles like a vacuum cleaner, the vans Berle's are nice and wide, actually wider than the half cabs I'm breaking in now

I have wide splayed out chicken feet with (comparatively) slim ankles. I found the dc legacy slim were pretty good for my feet. Been skating the Lynx OG and they're really wide, comfiest skate shoes I've had in a looong time, and the sole is great. Lasting really well, good grip, surprisingly good flexibility. These would be my top recommendation, if you can handle the chunky look of them. The new Kalis shoe (the cup, not the vulc) is nice and wide across the toes too.
Skated a few pairs of Straye that i got free through work, and they were super wide, at least the first few seasons. They've changed the shape and now fit more like Vans.
Most Adidas are dreadful, tight across the midfoot and loose around the ankle.

size 12 here wide foot
all vans and DCs i’ve been in fit ok except slipons
nike sb is a no go except for dunks. i’ve been able to fit in the blazers and cory kennedy’s shoe but lately the blazers feel a lil bit more tight than i remembered. curious about the bruin react because they do look nice.
adidas, i’ve only enjoyed wearing matchcourts and tyshawn’s shoe.
converse actually had to size down to 11.5 for the chuck pros and jack purcell pros. i tried the louie’s in the 12 and it fit like a nike sb shoe.
last resort AB i had to size down to an 11.5 but i guess a 12 would have been fine too. just had a little bit of extra toe room than i am used to.
edit: reeboks are also a very comfortable fit. but once the shoe wears down it kinda sucks to skate in
those are the ones i’ve tried in the last five years.

I have been wearing Es Silo. My feet are really wide and my heel was starting to hurt in vulc soles.
Silos have been a surprise. Wide and comfy. A bit bulky at first.
I am afraid of not being able to find them again in my size so I've started hording them when I see them.

started skating superstar vulcs and i cant go back now. Perfect fit for my hobbit feet
was about to say this.

NB 379’s have a wider forefoot and toebox.
-
new bal Foy felt nice n wide to me
Tyshawn Adidas are not wide they fit my feet perfectly though sort of in between

The eS evant feels decently wide.
Wider feeling than my new balance Tiago and 420 for sure.
