If that video doesn't unfold I blame the new site design.

I can not fucking wait for this game.
I'm playing through RDR 1 for about the 5th time right now, so I was stoked when I saw this pop up.
I haven't bought a current generation system yet, but that's going to have to change once this comes out.

I slept on the first one, and I really don't know why. I love all of the GTA titles, and I even own Red Dead. I think I got distracted when I tried to play it initially and just never revisited. Gonna try and change that before this one comes out, because it looks great!

RDR is the best movie you'll ever play. The world is so immersive to where riding a horse in one direction for 11 minutes is a nice way to spend your time. The only reason I stopped playing it was because GTA 5 came out. I can't wait for this one.

im pretty hyped for this, i was more of a fan of the ps2 red dead revolver. a sandbox game is cool but the first one was just so fun, played through it so many times.

To the credit of fortnite, I like how their buyable stuff doesn’t change gameplay. So long as this isn’t a pay to win online then I’m happy.

Yeah, it will most likely be cosmetics. I don´t think rockstar will be as stupid as EA.
People will still argue, because fortnite(br) is free to play and this will be a 60$ game.

Red Dead Online will be just like GTA Online in terms of "economy" or whatever you want to call it. Those money cards are the main driver and without all the fancy vehicles to get people's money they'll probably be offering a lot more properties, cosmetics, and mounts. Rockstar made about $1b a year off of GTA Online and they're only looking to add to it with RDR Online. They've already announced a bunch of online game modes including Battle Royale.

I wonder how the online micro transactions are going to go? Rockstar is going to be so much more restricted than they were with GTA.  I’m sure there will be new weapons and horses added from time to time, but you’re not gonna be able to open a nightclub in the middle of the woods...

Might would be sick if they had areas like caves or ravines that were hidden in the storyline but you could discover and claim them in the online and make them into gang hideouts.

I could see them adding in gameplay for panning for gold...

They showed them playing cares in the trailer, which I really doubt will transfer to online which sucks. The reason there's no casino in GTA Online is because they assigned real world dollar value to in-game money by selling those cards, which means in-game gambling for in-game money is the same as real world gambling for real world money. I have no idea how they'll make all their money in RDR2 but I have no doubts they will.

Just got done playing for a couple hours, it's already a pretty incredible game. The depth and detail they put in every little thing, while somehow avoiding being tedious about it, is fucking amazing. I spent half my time just wandering around, shooting at shit, robbing people and staring at the landscape.

Take a peek in the back window of the drugstore in Valentine. You'll see a "secret operation". Then go around front and force the owner to open the back room. Kill everyone and open the weapon chest on the table to get the Schofield Revolver for free.

At the Horseshoe overlook camp, go down towards the river and ride along the riverbank for a short bit and you'll come across a small little burnt out town. Go into the old Sheriff office and search under the counter, there is a lockbox with a gold bar worth $500.00 in it. You can sell it to your fence if you've unlocked him at that point.

In first person you should equip a shotgun, tackle them, and blow their head off. It's like right there.

I just started chapter 6 and it says I'm at about 60% , I'm thinking each chapter is about 10% of the story just based on that.

That mission was intense. This game really does a great job at creating emotional investments in it, in more way than one. Without spoiling anything some shit goes down in the game that I felt weirdly touched by, almost to an embarrassing level haha.

I primarily use third person for that reason, you get to take in a lot more around you. I am also just more used to it from having played the first RDR through so many times. First person is fun to use sometimes, but it stresses me out more if I'm in the middle of some big shootout or something.

And I get what you guys are saying about being touched by moments, there was an interaction npc in valentine begging for money, through the story I always just gave him shit, then towards the end I ended up seeing him again and had a whole moment with him being sincere

You know the thing about that guy is that he fucking robs you if you let him hug you. It doesn't tick like when you make a transaction but if you keep your eye on your money he picks your pocket. I'm beating his ass next time I go through there. Also if you fight the loud mouth trapper in the saloon there and take his raccoon hat, make sure to wear it every time you go back.

You can bait foxes with squirrels and rabbits. I think you have to use either the bow with an advanced arrow or a repeater.

Oh shit, well I killed him anyway in the epilogue, but I’m gonna go find that dude in the saloon and get a hat.

Are you saying I’m some sort of mental midget?

Nope. You never know though on SLAP.

Finished Chapter 6, and man, it was heavy. Haven't really done much in the Epilogue yet cuz I honestly needed to step away and process it for a bit. I even got the "good" ending, too.

SPOILERS BELOW

I think Arthur may be one of, if not, the best protagonist Rockstar has written. I feel like I played the game pretty accurately to how his character unfolded, in that I was kinda ruthless early on, but as the story progressed I made softer more honor-driven decisions. And this was prior to knowing how it would end. But even if you didn't play this way, Arthur felt very mulit-dimensional as a person, which is something I feel a lot of Rockstar characters lack. My heart honestly sank to my stomach as his last mission unfolded, especially as he gave a tearful "thank you" to his dying horse, of whom I used from the moment I got him up until the very end. It can't be overstated how much this game makes you care about the characters you watch, and how much it makes you feel for them when tragedy strikes. What an experience, and I'm not even done yet.

Just started playing yesterday. The level of detail in the game and how much freedom you have is absolutely insane. Haven't played much of the story yet but I already love all the characters, especially Arthur. Now I won't be so bummed when it snows or rains since I got this game to keep me busy.
