He wasn't born into money and didn't get the attention he gets because his dad is a famous defense lawyer turned... I dunno. He's a talented skater who pokes fun at the industry. As for the vanity thing, maybe he just likes being healthy? He looks pretty healthy to me anyways.

Edit: Weck is golden. He’s a big softie from what I could tell, but he seems like someone who would actually be pretty cool to skate/converse with irl.

if you think weck is on your steroids you're making yourself look like a complete dumbass.  nothing about his physique has any signs of gear usage.  skateboarders in general have zero clue about fitness in general, and anyone with any extra lean mass is "jacked".   the steroid jokes sound like an x-games announcer talking about the 900.

ding ding ding. if he was actually juicing his whole body proportions would be out of whack. Never was a huge weck fan but this interview was good, i also respect the weights and gvae the best advice, get the fuck off the elliptical. Spend a half hour doing 5x5 squat and deadlift, and it will get you way further than being a cardio queen.

I dug it and thought it was a good episode. I appreciate the ones with epic skate history story telling (like the JT episode, IMHO still the best one yet) but can appreciate this type of episode as well. It was definitely one of the funnier ones anyway.

I liked Weck just cause he was a genius troll and I felt the way he was stirring shit up and making people mad over petty shit they had no reason to care about.
Hearing him talk about partying too much and getting hurt and working out with his brother to better himself really sunk it in.
He trolls PRO skaters because they should demand more of themselves. He encourages people to work out instead of partying. So weird that he actually ended up bein the most sensible voice in modern skateboarding.
I want more of this.

Fun fact: Weck's older sister was my manager at an old job.

We had a meeting once where I said something about skating then clarified the meaning of a switch 360 flip. She was like, "Oh, you think I don't know about skateboarding?" and then showed me her brother's Instagram.

He eluded to the fact that he has, but I think it's fairly clear that he doesn't do it on the reg.

For God's sake the callers in this episode have me really questioning whether humanity should continue. Cringey as hell. I almost lost my shit when the one guy was basically like "has anyone ever been offended." Here's a tip... If you are calling into a show that's gonna go viral think of a GODDAMN GOOD QUESTION. Otherwise fantastic episode.

callers to any talk show are usually brutal, and on the nine club experience they are the worst ever.

Weck is a WWF character, swole and constantly yelling into the camera about being alpha while flexing violently. everyone always cries about hating jocks and not wanting them in skating but here we are all embracing the most jocked out behavior skating has ever seen. fuck this dude, he doesnt actually care about anyone in skating, he talks shit about all of them, but he still wants a slice of the skate pie that they created. ill laugh at his jokes but thats all he'll ever be is a joke.

wild crazy steroid abuse can be really bad. you're 100% right.

it's also a very effective medical treatment for all types of diseases and conditions which is the exact opposite of a dangerous drug.

and then there's the anti-aging doctors who administer proper dosages to people just trying to look good which is probably somewhere in the middle. basically every actor that ever got buff has been on. it's a lot more common and less harmless than people think when done right.

I don't understand how pointing out someone is on steroids is the same thing as judging someone for using them.

If somebody's a steroid user, and I notice they use steroids and state it, I'M being the judgmental one for pointing it out? Or, am I supposed to just keep that person's secret for them. Like, I know they use steroids, but I shouldn't ever state that because if I do, I'm a judgmental asshole AND I'm a snitch because somehow I was entrusted with their little secret and what a jerk I am for breaking that trust.

Go steroids!

Yeah the documentary "bigger stronger faster" made a pretty convincing arguement that steroids are fairly harmless. But then I have heard alot of stories about guys on steroids doing stupid shit like starting fights at gyms and stuff. And a father was stabbed with a knife at my local skatepark by a guy who was clearly on roids.

100 percent weck has done roids. I have friends who are bigger than him and have not done anything, but with how skinny he was you cannot get that big in such a short time without taking extra hormones.

for me, generally more irritable, but every now and then i'd lose it pretty bad.  it's weird, because you can feel yourself going off the rails, and you know you're acting crazy, but you can't do anything about it.  not sure if its similar or worse shooting up anabolic steriods, but that was my experience with the oral version.

The problem is you are lumping in "roidz" like it comes in the bottle labeled this. There is hundreds of diff types and most are not even close to the same. People usually doing "steroids" are shooting testosterone and all that does is give your body more of what it already produces, which can increase muscle building among other things. This literally has 0 of those side effects you named unless you are doing it completely incorrectly. Also A is not B, you can't correlate Opiates to steroids just because they are prescribed by doctors and have negative side affects. That's every drug. Can those things happen on steroids? Yes, but if used improperly. There is no "rolling dice", there is you either know what you are doing or you don't. We live in a world of science and facts, if we lived in one based on stigmas then gangsta rap made you do it.

I get your experiences but

I like how their first post has a reference to "t-levels" and a dig about gender-neutrality, followed up by one that includes the red-pill meme (from a film directed by two trans women).

If their next post talks about how feminism is a scourge on our society, I'll have generic-MRA-kook bingo.

I like how he talks about people trying too hard though he clearly is the number one offender of trying super hard to have this silly meathead schtick. And I love how he just sits there with his shirt off and none of those goons even say anything about it...haha.

I genuinely think he really just wants to kiss Bieble. He's shtick worked ok on the 9club but he was a little shook when they put up his own footage.

I like how their first post has a reference to "t-levels" and a dig about gender-neutrality, followed up by one that includes the red-pill meme (from a film directed by two trans women).

If their next post talks about how feminism is a scourge on our society, I'll have generic-MRA-kook bingo.

Would gnar but can't gnar.

i've listened to this one a couple times now, it is legitimately the funniest one they have had.  hate on him all you want but he was a better guest than 80% of the pro/am skaters they have had on, and has a better head on his shoulders than most of the industry skeez balls that have been on.

This episode and his Bunt interview definitely gave way into his actual persona moreso than his insta image, even if he really is just a hater/shit talker.

Whew, finally caught up, and I'm not going to read this whole thread but I agree(right?) that I also liked it a lot and I think it's because week is low on the totem pole, it's easier for Roberts et al to dig a little more. He won't ask the real pros about real shit, and until he does, he wont ever get to be the real Howard stern of skateboarding. And he could do it, but if he has these dudes on it has to be a no holds barred type thing. Ask nyjah real questions like What kind of drugs do you take recreationally?  Or ask Stevie Williams about the manny mania incident. Until he does fuck it, it's just more tit sucking at the industry udder.

skating a spot yesterday and kids were talking about mannies being clean or 'ending up on manny busters'.
weck has really broken into the culture even if nobody cared about him when he was skinny.

Agree with everyone. CR was his best, Weck was clever and funny. I couldn't make it through his Bunt--he came off as a try hard.
