randomly putting on Lizzy - Pursuit of happiness at the bar helped me get laid so many times with subpar women, I can't even be mad. Doesn't take much to amuse idiots.

I feel like that was one of the only good songs in that video.
To stay on the theme of Pretty Sweet...
We don't sleep
We drink and we skate
And when we skate
We fall on our face
The cringiest song I've ever heard.
-
Those brits in Away Days
I don't dislike 60s garage music but everyone was using it in the late 2000s and since it's usually slow and melancholy it makes parts feel boring (see the orchard skateshop video)
Pretty much all of extremely sorry
Trap always goes straight to mute for me

I also liked CK's song in that. I think it went well with the editing. Me and one of my friends used to jokingly quote it in college when out trying to pick up girls the bar. "What are you doing? Just workin' on my night moves." We just heard it on classic rock radio one day and found it funny.
Agree about Trunk Boyz. I wonder if anyone likes that song?

CK1 had the best part in pretty sweet and for sure the best song. Lots of dog shit songs used in that video. Night moves by Seger is timeless gold. And he skated to all 30 minutes of that song. the song literally stops for like 25 seconds then there is a whole 2 minutes after. killed it

I mean I know people don't like rap but that song worked for Biebel and his part.

House of Pain in Away Days...not just a video part, the entire video ruined by one song.

Jereme Rogers - Yeah Right
Vert button for that part every time
i do have to say i like that song, but that part annoys the fuck out of me.

the unholy union of Paul Rodriguez and Sonic Youth's Teenage Riot.
Both amazing on their own but kinda bad together.
-
Luckily Nyjah's skating is next level because the music in his new part is unlistenable hot garbage.
-
Pj Ladd- Really Sorry.
-
Nick Trapasso in the LE Theatrix video or whatever it was called. Think how good his Transworld part fit him and how much it was watched, then think even with his smooth style no one could stomach that LE part with that music so no one watched it over, or ever bought a deck for that matter.
-
What about video parts that ruined songs?
Moose's part in the Deathwish video ruined Moonage Daydream for me. Now every time I hear it I see projections of crooked grind flip out variations and bandanas.
-
the firstMystery promo was soooo sick, but the music in Black & White was meh, just like everything else

Whole part was kinda soft- looks like Nick didn’t push it as hard as he did with the parts that got him to where he was
-
hmmm lets talk about WHOLE VIDEOS that have had fucked up soundtracks - like the element video, extremely sorry and the last etnies video all got fucked over by having ONE person make all the music!

Every one of Brandon Biebel's parts except for Yeah Right.

I like Brad Cromer and I like Modest Mouse, but I hated them together in this context: https://youtu.be/pNg8uZi2saY

I wouldn’t say it ruined the part because it’s Busenitz and that’s impossible but the snoop dogg into david bowie transition in away days is awful

Mark Appleyard great skater however whoever arranged the music for his part should be bludgeoned with a 12" double dong as this part was ruined by this whores voice raping my ear holes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZ4RAyt8x0g

that part is anyways so fucking out of my comprehension, so I've let the song pass and so I've enjoyed it in some twisted ironical way. Or maybe it's just some guitar hero 3 nostalgia kicking in
-
Dee Ostrander skating to three 6 mafia

The Flare originally had Sebo Walker skating to De La Soul "me myself and i" but when I saw it again a few weeks later it was changed to "Shadrach" by the beastie boys. It was obviously edited to work with de la soul...shadrach just wasn't right

Appleyard is the king of skating to whack shit and getting away with it. He somehow made an entire generation of skaters think this song is dope:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSvkfy3ddrk
I'm going to argue that Placebo owes their entire career to a Canadian dude's skate video part. Appleyard should be getting royalties for this shit.
-
That song is dope.
I actually had that album in my car and the cd changer broke so that was one of the ones that got stuck in my dash for years. It's actually still in it but I don't drive the car any longer. All because of that video part.
-
that fuckin' Eli Reed Zoo part
This.
Elis part is is FUCKED in that Zoo video and the fact they made him skate to 'taking care of business' made me never want to hear the words Zoo York ever again

agree with whoever said jump around in away days. felt like an adidas executive choosing the one rap song he could remember. very cringey.
ill add almost every part edited by thrasher to the list. maybe it has to do with with having to pay royalties, but they just pick the most forgettable/terrible stuff

I used to know this guy who would get wasted at the bar and play Night Moves on the juke box and then pretend a pool stick/cue was a horse and pretend to ride it while singing the song. It was really stupid but I always would laugh at it. Literally every woman there was not impressed.
The happy medium sound tracks aren't exactly my cup of tea, but Ryan Lay skating to built to spill in Happy Medium 2 was sick.
I wasn't really feeling Alex Olson skating to King Diamond.

All of 'Love Child', funny for the first 20 seconds, then, to quote Guy, "the joke's over"...know what I mean?
I liked most of the songs in, "Love Child." But I like Motown and music from that era. It was just so different than what everyone else was doing at the time. Jovante's song is sick and Colvin's song fit his "part" perfectly. Some (Branagh) were terrible though.

Herman and Drew shared part in Chicken Bone - probably the most unpopular opinion on SLAP, almost like saying you don't like Fred Gall or hate Gino's push but I just couldn't get into it...
I agree.
Herman and Reynolds are two of the best ever and have had some great song pairings: Bowie, Waits, Hendrix, DJ Shadow- Hell I even like the "Drive Me Wild" by whoever the fuck that Herman skates to in TIS. A lot.
So you'd think that pairing them with arguably the greatest hip hop song of the 2000s with UGK and Outkast's unforgettable collab in "International Player's Anthem" would result in gold, but for the most part it falls flat. A notable exception is Reynolds fakie ollie table line, that sync was good. I blame whoever edited it (Shane Heyl?)
