Whenever people ask me my favorite skaters of all time, Donger is always one of the first (if not THE first) mentioned. Amazing pop, the very definition of the "less is more" approach. He maxes the fuck out of his tricks, no time for bullshit.
-
that was some lovely donger!
boston at the end, donger is most lovely in boston, i've always felt.

The best sounds in skateboarding at 0:34 seconds

Him, Mike Maldonado and Gershon Mosely always had my favorite ollies
-

not fit to be
no picture kept will remiiind me
-
Very lovely. My all time favorite probably.
-
So sick. I also like that he does basic tricks- ollies, 180s, kickflips, pop shuvs, 360 flips, 5050, 5-0, lipslides etc but everything is done so solid. Everything is popped/grinded perfectly.
How was the 5050 on the lamp post down that hill. Gnarly as

^ Fuck, fuck. What the fuck.
This kind of power is exactly what I try to do with my skating. Warning, this can lead to injuries.
A tall ollie is the best trick to have in your bag.

Oh man that'd be a treat! Aren't kids into their historian shit these days? Dude was talking about "Tommy Gorilla" the other day at the park lol.
-
Easily one of the best to ever do it.
Seven Steps to Heaven is absurdly good.
-
The king of pop!!! His kickflips are one of the best. Thanks for posting Goku
-
I always thought he just looked so cool. I mean, who else gets turned into a Street Fighter character.

He was (imo) a teeny bit radder when he was on h street. He could do those ollie mondern methods. Nice kfs he does in the OP.
-
love me some Donger!
My best mate back in Aus totally used to look/ skate like him too so it's extra nostalgic anytime I see footage of him
-
I've mentioned this before, but what I love about Donger is to me he embodies what street skating should be. I feel like he skates with a destination in mind, a purpose, and it is all part of his travels. Something very organic and natural about his approach to skating.
One of my all time favorites.

yes, heavy connection to JTMR too!
-
I went to a Maple demo around 1995 in Flint, Mi. He was the first pro skater that I had ever seen in person. I was 14 or 15 years old at the time and seeing him do some of this stuff in real life was mind blowing.
-
Besides the pop, I never understood how he sorta mobs/kicks down for his kickflips, yet they suction up with a really satisfying & audible catch.
Also, must've been fucked up being called Donger in the 80s. Much respect to this dude.

damn that first trick
to this day no one is going straight over the back onto full size handicap rails
-
imagine the freedom that comes with having so much pop and control over and onto high stuff. everything turns into a potential spot. Donger is an all-time favorite and I like to think he embodied the idea of giving new form and purpose to some of the most street basics before it was hip, or even a conscious concept to most. to me he's a more urban version of Natas, a burlier version of Gonz and just as pioneering in his own regard.
-
always liked the kickflip frontside grab over the oil drum from flat. Insanity.
-
Always been a fan of Donger.
The perfect example of a man that knew his talents AND limitations.
His bag of tricks is not so deep BUT his tricks are done so well and he rolled with it.
Also a superhumble and respectable dude, kung fu fanatic etc...
Major respect for this dude.

yeah, his kick flips aren't trad style but he's probably the only dude where you actually hear him catch them. his front 3s are truly a work of art.
Dude is getting some heavy ink lately:
