That doesn't sound like Silas got Dave kicked off the team, just some feedback to the TM after the tour and that was it. Happens frequently when a new rider is trialing out a new team and they don't pass the van test.

he hasn't passed the van test sounds odd and really uncomfortable to me.
probably had fun while old man Silas wore his travel neck pillow and wanted to sleep at 3 pm.
