What's the secret to learning long back tails?

So here goes:

I've been trying learn good backside tailslides for 5 years now, but can't get one to slide more than a feet.

Anyone have any tips on how to learn them?

Seems like i can't really get my weight on the tail and sit on it. Another thing is that my back wheels often bite into the ledge. How to make the wheels slide and not bite?

Has anyone noticed, does truck choice have an effect on sliding? Indys seem to have that "bumper" in the baseplate as opposed to Thunders.

Slipping out > sticking

To do them long stand on your back foot like you're waiting to drop in and put your body more on top of the ledge than towards the edge your sliding. That's what makes you fall out. I hope that makes sense. Just really plant on your foot and stand proud instead of having your weight to where your shoulder can pull you around. Look at your front shoulder to go regular, look at your back shoulder to go fakie.

Lock smootlhy on the ledge, then put all your weight on the back foot while looking over your shoulder.

Use a lot of wax and try to go faster gradually.

You have to not be a pussy and just go faster. Going faster will give you more control and you'll inevitably slide farther if you're confident enough with you backtails
