My old coworker used to work at the vans store at Lenox mall, basically the richest most uppity mall in all of Georgia. He told me some fucked up shit. If shoes got returned they were forced to be thrown in the trash, but because they didn't want homeless people dumpster diving shoes or anyone to catch on they made him mutilate them with a box cutter to the point of unwearability. Ever heard of donating to the less fortunate?
I worked at that store for extra holiday money a few years ago!.
I once had some British dude just hand me his phone and FaceTime his daughter. While he sat and did something on another phone. She wanted some glittery vans some singer wore. Then he told me to add whatever for his sons.
This Asian person showed me pictures of models online and I just had to match the stuff in the outfits.
Countless parents ask for whatever the cool vans were. At the time black authentics, now it’s probaly old skools.
Dude buying authentics in every size to sale to rich people in his home country later.
A personal shopper mad special releases are sold out.
I did sell one dude a pair of halfcabs once. He was literally just getting vans because they were trendy but he didn’t like the basic styles we sold the most of(era, old skill, sk8 hi, authentic, chukka) He was real stoked on them. Felt good to see someone leave happy.
