When Rey killed Chewbacca, I thought this could turn out to be an interesting movie, but should've known to give up on that thought when 5 minutes later it turns out he wasn't even on that ship and everything was alright.
Rey's internal battle with the dark side was the interesting theme in the movie for me, but they never really went anywhere with it.
Finn and Poe were pretty much just there for the ride and had no character development. New characters tagged along and did the same. Lots of crazy stuff just happened without any explanation. Should've been at least an hour longer
All the actors were great, visuals were amazing and action scenes were epic. Did a lot of things right but failed to make proper plan for the trilogy. Felt like they just made stuff up along the way without caring about how to cohesively follow through with them.
Edit. Also why didn't Rey get Palpatin's powers and become the new sith emperor when she killed him at the end?
