Dunno about underrated but his nose grind on the tall ledge off the stairs at the courthouse was buck.

He had a brief run around 2002-2004ish that is pretty unhateable. He can certainly claim some of the more iconic clips at the Santa Monica courthouse, not just the stage but the long ledge as well. I liked his stuff at sand gaps.

He somewhat recovered from that Transworld part for some decent clips around the time of Pretty Sweet.

Whoever said "one day he will be known more for the Nine Club than his skating" - that day has long since passed.

I only wish there was more footage. He manages to get the intangible action_nonaction. People call it wei wu wei.

He did some pretty cool shit, come to think of it he's probably the lowest risk factor skateboarder in modern day street skating.

don't hate the player - hate the game. As mentioned, balancing your grinds like he did is not easy.

Crob was really good, he still is but today "standards" are ridiculous
Sir, I'm going to politely, but firmly, ask you and your common sense to leave this establishment.

off topic but -- I saw his podcast sidekick in venice the other day - roger I believe. he kind of looked like a naked mole rat. he was wearing a nine club hat. he asked my girlfriend if she was 'filming a documentary' (she was using her hpx). she gave him a thumbs up and then he said he liked her style.

he ignored me when I said hey. then he snaked me. i've got a pretty funny clip of it. I don't think he liked me, but in his defense I was probably skating like a kook.

10/10 experience. would totally watch mr. roger try to talk to my girlfriend again.

I'd like to see this clip haha

but yeah some of this stuff I hadn't seen by Crob and it was pretty decent...like most said I think the tws part hurt him

first thing that pops to my head when i hear his name, he has a dope balanced grinds game.
good taste in manuals as well, someone said hes going "safe" with shuvs and bigspins but i think its more tasteful than a bunch of flip in flip outs.
i would rather see Chris Roberts do a switch flip manual or a switch manual fs 360 shuv out than seeing Nick Tucker do a nolllie inward heel nose manual nollie front foot flip out any day. even writing that trick sucks.
Crob has good taste in manual tricks and knows how to balance a grind.
but i do hate fs 50 360 flips out. i hope he never does one again.

The nine club just keeps getting better and even though i wish they did a bit more research before shooting,  most episodes are good and they created a good format.

Couldn't have said all that better myself.

While I agree Roberts could be better informed for specific questions- though the other hosts seem to provide that axis to the conversation- I think what Roberts does foster a comfortable atmosphere for people to expand their stories, talk and explain things. He does this effectively through his little verbal nods in a way I find unobtrusive for the most part and you can see it works with a lot of guests.
I'm going to argue that Placebo owes their entire career to a Canadian dude's skate video part. Appleyard should be getting royalties for this shit.

I think Crob is definitely a talented skater. He's also likeable until he starts talking. He always has that "what about me?!" look and vibe to him. Even the look on his face screams that he's got a bug up his ass about one thing or another.
This sums it up perfectly. Dude is an interview depth deterrent who could be replaced with five buttons:
