Shoes that fit n feel like Nike’s that ain’t

Nike Blazers and GT Bruins are perfect shoes for me but what other brands or models fit and feel kinda like these? I had some Busenitz OGs and the arches were way too high for my dogshit flat feet and toes too narrow.

I got you. I too have wide flat feet. Here is my perspective:

Dunks: only Nike’s I can wear, but all are true to size. I am size 12.

Vans: Old School high top size 12 fits about the same.

Adidas: only shell toes and Stan Smiths. All others are too narrow.

Es: almost all work for me accept slim fit.

DC: originals fit like Nike dunks. The others are too narrow.

NB: since they recommend a half size up I have yet to order. I won’t wear a 13.

Emerica: winos fit good

Lakai: cupsoles are usually Nikeish but the Tony Hawks are way too pointy.

The two killers for me are narrow toe box and instep. And I hate the idea of putting $20 insoles in a new pair of shoes just to stop my instep from rubbing.

I currently have es silos and they are perfect. Probably too bulky for most but I am used to high tops and had 5 pair of Telford's which I thought was the best shoe for skaters with no or fallen arches.

How are Globe shoes? They seem like they would be wide but inflexible.

Looks like you're after the Nike vulc fit, which is much different than their cupsole fit/feel. The vulc stuff uses a totally different last than their other stuff like the Nyjah, Koston, etc.

Huf vulc stuff fit pretty similar to Nike vulc stuff to me. Similar flat and simple insole (minus the Zoom bag Nike has the GT Blazer and such).

You might not like Vans then, their Pro Skate stuff has a more substantial insole, but it mushes out to the foot pretty nice, and the fit is pretty tight like a Nike shoe. I had a pair of Vans Sid Pro's, and they fit pretty similar to the GT Blazer to me. Similar construction in the upper.

Champion!  I'm talking more about Vulcs though, cups are a bit stiff for what i'm used to.  This is a rad breakdown though, thanks.

yeah this is on the money.  I was going to go some Half Cab Pros for old times sake, but my Old School His roll my ankle all the time due to how the edge of the vulc seems to taper in so much to the sole.  Makes them tippy, so I haven't skated Vans for years. Early 90s Vans were unbeatable, but they all have seemed so stiff and cheap in the last 20 years.  Maybe they've gotten better.

Thinking about getting Gamechanger insoles anyway, which i'll pair up with the new shoe once I find one I like.  Haven't checked out Hufs.

Huf vulcs, I found had a slightly thicker/stiffer outsole than most vulcs. It was good for me (I'm now cupsoles only), but if you're a regular vulc wearer, they might be stiffer than you want. I had Dylan slips and Hupper 2's (both low and mid). The Dylan toe was too pointy for me to skate, and they were just chillers. Huppers were a little bit more of a rounded toe shape (a bit narrow, but they stretched out enough), and I bought multiple pairs.

I think I know what you mean with Vans vulcs being a bit ankle roll-y. You might have good luck with State. I had a pair of Salems - they didn't work for me because the sole was too thin, but they sound like what you're looking for. I can't speak for other models, but I did like the shape of Salems - toebox is slightly wide/round. Soles are a bit of a pebble magnet, but I found the shoes to be otherwise well made. Insole is thinner than Vans Ultracush, but maybe a hair thicker than the Nike Zoom insole.

But I've heard Proper are pretty thin/flexible cupsoles, so they might work - I've never tried them because the soles seem to thin for me and my local shops don't sell them, but maybe someone else can advise.

I think he was on the product planning side rather than straight up design, what's called a PLM.

Proper's drop in sockliners are kinda similar to Vans ones. PU foam, decently thick, thicker in heel than forefoot, with a consistent amount of rubber for the full length of the sole.

As i've got a cooked back (herniated disc) and flat feet, i'm looking at getting some insoles anyway, probably some Game Changers to see how they go.  Had Adidas Businetz and the hi arch and heel just killed me. 

I'm not against Cups, i'm just used to flexible soles, so i'm worried these insoles might stiffen up the shoes anyway.  If a cupsole is flexy, i'd be into it.  I'm liking the look of these Proper shoes, haven't heard of them before.  Getting a solid Gazelle vibe.
