Australia skaters quick question

When you're putting together a new complete do you call it a set up or a build ?

Yeah, I set up a board.


I have heard others use "build" though.  Maybe it has come more from USA or somewhere else.

Some other crowds use it too, bike builders especially.


Someone recently made comment about it and everyone else chipped in and was saying WTF and similar.

Looking up hashtags, seems it is very American.


I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

A guy in a 50 and older skate group said everyone in Australia calls them builds when I said they're called set ups in the USA.

That's funny.

I thought it was the other way round, as did a few others I know who are in / almost in that age group.

Guess it is down to what industry they are in as well.

Who knows really.


Can more often than not trust those groups of 50+ aged individuals to have something curiously interesting to say.

Glad I am still a couple of years off.
