Flight deck delaminated, hit them up online. They checked the pictures, deemed it unecassary for me to ship it back. I asked for a different size than the original, they agreed but were out of stock. I woke up today with a package from Ventura with a 9' popsicle. I live in Canada so the guy somehow got that sucker on a plane that night and had it in my hands the next day, they even included extra wide grip. All this happened in 2 days, great experience. Shout out to Kam, you are G.

Pretty sure I emailed them asking why they discontinued ditch tech, and I ended corresponding back and forth with George Powell for over a year.  He even sent me stuff to try.... Say what you want but they give a shit about their product and back it...

That's great. In the skate industry the only bad experience I have with dealing with faulty product was NHS. I flat spotted some rictas skating a pool and was told I should have been riding OJs... They did replace some bent Indy's once though. And we all know DLX customer service is amazing.

I don't see anything wrong with their art. It's more cohesive than it was in the 90s and more in line with their output from the 80s.

There's no real consistency or anything that really stands out.

For example, you have that McClain graphic and AA graphic that are really good:



And then you have these:









It feels like they open up whatever template, use the paint bucket with random colors, and call it a day.

Obviously art is subjective, but why choose a Powell graphic over ones like these? They're much better.















I have never seen anyone skate a Powell deck that wasn't a Bones Brigade reissue or a Flight deck.

VCJ has lost the touch the past few years. Nothing I’ve seen of his recent work comes close to the linework and shading of his old stuff.

Even the && is not that great when put next to a Per.

The closest he’s come to an actual nice graphic is the Sal lion, but the colors are garish.

You may have a fantastic product, but if your customer service is unhelpful, unreliable, or just plain hard to get in touch with, folks will hear about it, and you’ll lose customers over it UPSers

I look at all the skateone boards and I know what brand that is. There isn't any second guessing and it's not all good, but I'm not that offended by any of it. I'm guessing the mentality of their brand is to sell to kids and their parents/grandparents. Good enough to be distinct, nostalgic, and unremarkable enough that no one will imitate it. Say what you will about darkstar, but these same graphic qualities are probably why they are still profitable after all these years.

Except for the big ANTIHERO on there, I feel like it could be some other brand, and the trash Ahab just doesn't cry out to me that I have to get that one from a wall of boards or if I was a parent or a friend of a parent that was trying to shop for a board for a kid, I wouldn't send a link to this one.

One of those is not original art created by an inhouse artist (collab with national park) and except for Cliver and Fos whose work is pretty distinct and the girl figurine I don't know what brand it is and I don't care who made it.

many years ago i was all about the Bones bushings, but they'd always blow out/separate within a month.

i emailed, sent them photos, and they hit me back.
they sent me 10 little boxes of them, so enough for 5 sets of trucks.  it was pretty awesome

i still stopped using them lol
