I've got the day off tomorrow and I'm going to buy a sandwich toaster (or Breville) if you will.
Anyone got any good recipes.

I've heard a really strong cheddar and thinly sliced apple is a go.

That sounds like a good combination, reminds me of when I worked in a restaurant in California and someone asked me to throw cheddar cheese on top of their apple pie. I thought it sounded repulsive but they said it's a big midwest thing. Years later, now I think it sounds do-able.

A fig and goat cheese sandwich could be really good as well if you're trying to stay with the theme of cleaner, lighter summertime options. Maybe throw prosciutto in there if you eat meat? On nice fluffy, flaky bread I can see that working well.

I haven’t had one for a while but they were my work lunch for years. I like whole meal bread

This first one is best as a jaffle. You might squash your egg doing this one in a sanga press

Half poach your eggs because they’ll finish cooking in the toastie. Fucking poach them though otherwise it’s not the same.
I usually go hollandaise out of a jar, IMO only worth making it yourself if it’s for a girl and she’s watching.
The nicest bacon or the cheapest ham, up to you. Sometimes I fry some fatty bits of bacon for the crunch. I like chives in there too. Sometimes spinach. Cheese is optional I usually put a little bit in

A real good easy one I ran for years is jarlsberg cheese, wholegrain mustard with a tiny bit of hot English mustard mixed in and pastrami

That fig one sounds good Lorem_Ipsum
I’m defz gonna try that
Quince and manchego would be nice too

I saw something recently about how the jaffle kind of toaster make really good fried eggs.

Keen as fuck to try cheese, salsa and doritos in a toastie.

Blue cheese steps things up a notch, i have always diced the apple (helps the ingredients stick together & you use less fruit) Pears or White grapes are also good.

You could save money & time, by making grilled cheese sandwiches.
