I found an AVE FA deck that's 8.38 x 31.75" 14.18" wheel base. Going to try this out in the meantime. Less than 1/16" off on each side for the WB ...I think I can manage. The madness isn't that bad I hope. ???   And I've always wanted to try out an FA deck.

That's a good shape! I had one before my current deck and I liked it. It's worth noting that the deck is actually only about 8.3 and tapers to an 8.25 near the tail. FA/Hockey measure their decks pressed into the concave I'm pretty sure. The nose is also much longer than the tail which you don't feel at first but once there's a bit of razor tail its pretty noticeable.

Thanks for the heads up. I knew the noses were a bit big from seeing thew out in the wild but didn't know about the taper. That should't be too bad... I'm excited. lol

Looking back over some old catalog specs and it is interesting in 2016 most of the 8.5 decks were around 32.5 long (one having a 14.75 wheelbase).

This is around the same time as the FULL shape was pretty big, so they were longer, stayed wide and had a longer wheelbase overall, but more recently they are doing the FULL SE which is the "Short edition" of the same boards.

The 8.38 x 32.25 size was still constant though.

The 8.4 x 32 was also there, I just noticed

Fun looking through all these

AH Boutique line is still the fucking best ever as it still hold true. The browneyes are fucking hysterical.

I in no way need a new board but I've got madness and was looking over the thing decks I have and what I like and that short WB and length for an 8.3 is sealing the deal.

It's also worth noting, that even though they don't get much love on these pages, NHS/Creature 'Boat/Stump' boards are wide and short with short WBs (14.25 only tho).

8.38" is a special size made for tall people who want a little more wheelbase and just a little bit more width than the now-standard 8.25". Just about everything in skating is made for short people so just let us have something for once.  ::)

Exactly, y’all shut up before someone notices, let’s us have this one thing

Ended up ordering a 5boro deck after seeing the shape in a photo. It looks nice and wide in the nose and tail

8.5 x 32 x 14.25wb

Ok

Hahaha, yes, I love it. I’m short as fuck, I won’t blow up the spot for ya’ll.
But fr 8.38s is 8.5s. Same same, to me. That amount of width....you aren’t changing the trucks, it’s an 8.5. Which leads us to the next tier of madness and that length (and length of wb) are really the key measurements
