My brother is a moderately successful B level pro climber and it's hilarious to me that the faux hiker trend has gone this far. At first I found them repulsive, but now they're so ugly I got curious and grabbed a pair while in Europe. To me they're really weird feeling as they have insane grip but the upper moves a lot unless to tighten them pretty tight. I can see vulc devotees loving them, but I never fully got along with them.

Even though I dislike the looks I like that a brand is trying to do something other than reissue 90's shoes or produce sub par versions of the same few shoes for a decade.

It's batshit crazy in urban areas. You'll be  1000 km from the next serious peak and the same people that were sipping 15 Euro Glasses of Pet Nat in neon coloured high alpine boots (I literally saw someone in a bar on a 35°C summer evening in La Sportiva G-Techs!!) last year are now sampling the vegan cheese menu in their overprized approach shoes that will fall apart within two months on asphalt. Turns out Village PM were just ahead of the curve by a year. They should be making a killing right now. Or maybe their brand aint Gorp enough.

If anyone in the US is looking to try these out without paying for the shipping from EU, I just put up a pair of size 12 1:30s in the events/classifieds board.

Who has thoughts on 1pm versus 1:30pm on foot and such?

1pm are closer to a cupsole in terms of support and cushioning. The 130pm has less tech so it feels much thinner like a vulc.

Couldn't resist. Wear an 11.5, rolled dice w/ 11s. Swapped insole as these will be chillers for a min.
