They don’t support anyone but themselves and bleed the past trends into today to make a buck. Anyone can make art and put it on board . These small brands are nuisance IMO , brand owners are only ones making a buck some even have pro models and still don’t even Pay the “pro”even if it’s 2$ a deck, but will surely drop a video of them or daily post a vid on their IG. Carpet Blank deck BS just furthers the narrative that small brands don’t contribute to shit they’re just looking at making a buck with good margin and gimmicks. Until these brands put money into skaters they can keep selling to kids who only skate Palace or Supreme decks and fuck themseves into oblivion.
Im sure carpet has been sending boards to skaters in philly, dc and baltimore for a while now but i could be wrong.
And what is wrong with palace? It is literally the best thing to come out of the uk in a long while and they have done a ton for UK skateboarding.
Sounds like youre just mad with everything new that comes out, kinda like my grandpa with new technology. People like you harm skateboarding much more than any brand like carpet ever could. Im tired of all you whiners whining about anything new as if skateboarding was perfect before

I’ve got 1 carpet 8.25 right now and it’s my favorite shape ever and much higher quality paint and finishing than almost any brand. Given its BBS wood it will last a long time so I’ve got 3 in the closet.

I don’t get how you can hate on these dudes. They didn’t cause the hype around them, it happened because people like that a few dudes are just making shit they like, by hand, themselves.

There story is pretty sick, and I like how they screen and do a lot of stuff by hand. That to me justifies any higher price they might charge.

I don’t think it’s fair to say they don’t give back. I’m sure they flow some people boards and whatnot. To expect a couple dudes making a brand in a basement to be paying riders is a little much. To say they are only in it for the money I find hard to believe. Silk screening graphics is a process. If you’re looking to make a quick buck, you’re not gonna go down that route.

When they first moved up to Baltimore, to the house that is now their workshop/office/storfront building. That first season they did out of that space they gave shirts to Baltimore homeless. They also hook up their homies and some Baltimore skaters and Quinn up in NY.

I heard some rumors that they were going to join some distro with Pontus and Polar and were going to need to build a team and be a real company and shit. Not sure if that was real or just didn't come together. Or was just too much to handle with their day jobs. I know enough people in Baltimore I could probably find out but I don't care enough. I think what they are doing is sick and I grab a few pieces each season if I can. If the Habibi's are checking this turn Yoon Sun Shin pro

Their regular boards run about $80 around here, these “price-point” ones are just $60 pro decks like every other brand

They sell for $48, so not much different than other blanks

Idk if you know this but blankdecks.com still exists surprisingly enough, and they were pretty average in terms of holding up. They'd last longer than a box of blanks from Chapman at the time, I know that much was true.
At least when you're a washed-out hipster douchebag in NY, you can milk it at some decent looking, hard to skate spots. In LA you're just a tan-lined faggot in a school yard somewhere.

You'll be very excited to know that he's got a bunch of new footage in multiple things that'll blow you away. New videos from both Nnamdi Ihekwoaba and Ben Schmidt hopefully soon
