Has Powell ever reissued Crossbones?
« on: November 19, 2021, 06:31:18 PM »
I came across a vintage Vision Jinx board from 1987 about 5 years ago at a thrift store - had Tracker 'ultralights' (plastic baseplate) 'cell block' on the rear truck - FANCY PANTS!  - as well as the original Crossbone wheels by Powell -  so I skated the crap out of it and now the wheels are looking like Rat bones...

Has Powell issued these recently or are they going to reissue these classic wheels?

Have a great weekend.

I feel like the reissue of wheels has been very limited, only the G Bones in assorted colours and 64mm 97a duro of that type of wheel, as per picture below, which would skate the closest to the old ones you had, which are still sold at normal wheel prices, not ridiculous collectable prices as per the cross bones wheels.

The other two main ones I have on boards are the way softer / cruiser type wheels called Rat Bones 90a in assorted colours (85a in black) and the overly wide and 70's style Mini Cubic 95a assorted colours, both of which are fun to skate for more specific purposes.

Powell / Bones also do a number of other wheels, either in very hard duro or very soft duros, but nothing else around the 60mm 97a duro type wheel of a wider old school size and shape, that I can think of that is also readily available in the current market.

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Yeah it's odd they only do the G Bones, OG Rat Bones and Mini Cubics. Mini Rats would be a wise reissue. Powell isn't my thing but I actually have a red set of Mini Rats in great condition.

Wish they would reissue freestyles. Those were ahead of their time
