Wasn't exactly sure where to put this but Shane Gillis released a 4 part series on his podcasts featuring Louis CK discussing every US President. Sounds kinda corny but it's genuinely one of the best podcast series I've heard. I'm on hour 4 and its almost 3 AM here, and I'm wide awake completely enthralled.

Hilarious, insightful, and packed with some crazy stories revolving around the president's and American history.

I cannot recommend this enough.

I’m sure someone who really knows their stuff could fact check them about some things (it’s not like I have a ton of knowledge on the whole subject tbh and even I caught some things I didn’t agree with/thought was incorrect), but it’s still a really fun & interesting listen, gonna start ep 3 this morning

I enjoyed it a lot. Especially Louis knowledge of strange facts about some of the presidents were highly entertaining. I wonder if some of those interesting stories will make it into one of Louis or Shane’s stand up bits.

You are probably right that some of the things that were said were not very factual, but they approached it as stand up comedians: Don‘t let the truth get in the way of an interesting take or bit.

That said, their distorted half knowledge of climate change was pretty disappointing. I would expect them to be a little more informed about the topic. I mean yes we as people are probably unable and unwilling to collectively stop our ways and live more sustainable. Our whole way of western life firmly relies on constantly wanting more. But: this does not mean you cannot make meaningful changes, as a lot of other western countries have done already. The US could for example join the UN protocol and turning it finally into an effective thing. Also thinking that simply technological innovation will take care of it is more based on religious faith (our savior will come!) than on any scientific reasoning. Pretty disappointing that two people who seem to be otherwise able to question things, have in this regard just absorbed conservative talking points.

this is the RFK speech delivered after MLK was assassinated that Louis mentions. extremely moving. truly timeless as this speech can apply to our current state of society.

Didn't look too deep but this may be the speech Nixon gives to his staffers. Louis references this as a compensatory moment for Nixon.

Finished the first episode and it's an interesting and fun conversation.

Noticed after Shane recites the presidents in order he ends at Trump and never mentions Biden. I wonder if he just plain ignored Biden or maybe since the presidency isn't over he didn't think it qualified.

I'd never heard the "public secret" that Kennedy's election was rigged.

I was into History Hyenas for about a month but then it kinda got old for me. I was interested in how they split up because I guess there's bad blood there now, when they were basically brothers at the beginning of HH

I've been going through old Opie and Anthony's when Opie wasn't in, they're called Nopies. Opie was such a dud. If you look at what he's been doing the past two years it's like watching a guy turn into a homeless crazy dude. It's kinda sad but he was such an annoying person on one of the best radio shows ever. And he was there (almost) every day.
