Vans Skate Old Skool vs Emerica Dickson
« on: May 26, 2022, 10:42:43 AM »
Has anyone ever owned both of these shoes? Emerica has some dixons on for super sale price. How do they compare to skate old skools?

Last pair of old skools I've had were the Pro ones a while back, but I did have the Skate Lampin, Rowans and Half Cabs and they were all really good. The sole held better on the "skate" ones, the pros got soggy pretty quick. Had a pair of Dicksons when they came out and they were also really good, probably better than the pros and on par with the skate vans. I'd say you can't really go wrong with either so just pick the ones you like best.

My first pair of Old Skools were the pros. I was excited when the skate version came out with the thicker soles. I wore through the pros pretty quickly. That's my main concern about the Dickson's.

Thanks

I ordered a pair of the dicksons from one of the emerica sales and I liked the design a lot but they're incredibly heavy. They have a rubber "flick shield" under the toe suede and I think that's what does it. If that doesn't bother you then I would go for it. I think they look sick and are probably super durable.
