French Joslin not gonna step to this?
Seems it would be a shame to be beaten to the punch, on your home turf no less, by your visiting American counterpart.
[close]

He tried.

And he lived in Lyon for years.
This video shows pretty good how fucked that spot is.
Didn’t expect anything on it from nobody.

what's beastlier, the double set Chima hit last year or this? This is a bigger drop, but that double set was what, 9-flat-8?

i'm going with Chima all day

This had me thinking about double sets and the one Corey Duffel did. Had to look it up but it was a 9 flat 10.

Chima’s was def way bigger even if there’s a stair difference but crazy to think Duffman did this almost 20 years ago.

Any dude that hates on roller hockey hasn't played, and likely haven't played a sport in their entire life.

That Corey Duffel ollie still blows me away after all these years.  Has he ever talked about it publicly?  I'd love to hear some of the story behind it.

I went to bed before they posted that. Would have loved to see it thou.

I bet they posted it, realized that people are going to speculate whether he did something on it or not and then came up with this post. I honestly think that he did something on it or is in the process of doing something on it.
I am not a big fan of his skating but if somebody can step to it and do a flip or spin down it then its him

No one is flipping or spinning anything down that set, It’s hard to fathom that anyone has ever jumped down that shit. Then again, skateboarding is ten times gnarlier today then it was 15 years ago. So maybe I’m wrong.

Joslin has been drinking too many Rockstars. He was constantly improving on his jumping capabilities but recently he just looks unhealthy and stiff. There’s no way any historic tricks are coming out of him until he gets healthy/

The photo I linked was from a facebook post he did talking about it. https://www.facebook.com/coreyduffel/photos/heres-a-story-about-this-photo-skateboarding-when-there-is-a-soccer-game-at-the-/1417637294965552/

Here's a story about this photo.
Skateboarding when there is a soccer game at the local park can be a zoo. You will always get some marks that think they're funny and say" I hope you don't break your leg" or "I hope to see you biff it" some marshmallow always says the same shit as you're sussing the spot.
I was in San Diego skating with my brother Kevin, who was probably still in school and drove down with me to skate for the week with the 88 footwear dudes. Ed Dominick said he had a spot he wanted to show me, and as always, I was down to check it out. It was one of those weeks where tricks shit was just organically working out nicely. That day we were out with Shockus, Conklin, and had just met Mark Gutterman, Aleks Lewandowski, and Fabian. They came down from LA to link up for the day. Mark had a trick in mind, and I think it was a nollie backlip down a big rail. After he did his trick, it was talked about that Ed wanted to show me the Kanteen Russell stairs. I think I said sure, if you get me lunch. I had no idea what we were getting into to be honest. Was just stoked to be hanging with my brother Kevin and skating around San Diego with the homies.
We got to the spot and it's a big double set at a park. There are about 6 soccer games going on. People every where, and as always, a few clowns bringing negative vibes. I was stoked though, I had on a Mickey Mouse shirt, staypressed Levis, and was with my brother who I grew up skating with. The spot looked tight and I said "fuck it." I walked back with my board towards the parking lot. I think the dudes thought I was over it because I didn't say anything and was heading towards the cars. A few seconds later, I tap my tail three times, spin it around and throw down and start pushing as hard as I could. As always, I am singing "Evil Eye" to myself. I popped an Ollie but kicked out in the middle of the gap because I was caught off guard on how long the fucker was. I laughed on the concrete for a second and the crowd was kind in a daze of "what the fuck" this dude just jumped down this thing. Our crew was stoked and I knew I could do it. Repeated the process, but couldn't roll away and did a cardiel roll. My heel was killing me from the kick out, but I had adrenaline pumping through my veins and wanted this shit. Third try was the charm and I rolled away with a big smile and my brother was at the bottom and gave me a big hug. I was hyped and I knew it meant either sushi or a carne asada burrito on the card. I always hated the roll away because it looks like I'm giving myself self props as I roll through the grass. I was just trying to hold on and not fall. I hate self props and all that elitist jock bullshit. A minute or so later when the endorphins wore off, my heel felt broken and I could barely stand. Fucking worth it though. The following day Kevin and I drove to Disneyland to see our parents who were having a holiday. I can remember hobbling ride to ride because of the pain, but was so hyped to be with my family.
The angle Lance filmed has never been used in anything before and I wonder if he still has it. This clip was in my 88 part that came out in 2004 about three months after That's Life. Shockus filmed a lot of the clips from those videos. - rest in power my friend. I don't have any of my footage from the early 2000s but I'd love to get it all some day for some one to reedit parts or something. During those times I was just busy having fun and skating, so I never thought to ask any one for the clips. They were the past and I was moving forward.
I know jaws will kickflip melon this, but I am a cunt and hope it gets left alone 🙂 ps mad respect to Kanteen for paving the way for flying carcass's like myself. He did shit no one could at the time

Great story, thanks for sharing. Also, what is it with Foundation riders and Disneyland?

NBD. We're starting a Lyon 25 truther movement. Spike Jonze collaborated with the US government to manufacture the footage to prove US superiority in the stair race.

I'm imagining it gets so out of hand that Jaws has to punch Lyon truthers in the face in public like Buzz Aldrin did.
Skateboarding is the ultimate challenge.

I know he gets a lot of hate on here but Aurelien Girauds attempts are up there with Ali's in my book. No pads, no huge film crew, no parents, no champagne just some homies....the spot is fucked it needs to be seen in person to understand how fucking nuts it is.

After all the talk of Barcelona I think alot of folk sleep on Lyon it's so good. HDV, Venice, all the parks the list goes on and on. Couldn't live there but for a weekend trip I'm always down.

These pros need to practice Ollie more. I'd be willing to bet Joslin got Ollie in two. If he even wasted his time with Ollie. I would not have. I would have been like I need
6 beers
2 grams of hash
Extra insoles and a 40 bag of dust

I'll fucking invert firecracker this shit

Safe bet: joslin hit the 25 and bagged a trick.
