Yeah, if your homies are gonna clown you for creative/fun styles of skate clips (whether you suck or not) you need better homies. Period.

There's a certain "je na sais quoi" to Tom K's skating that appeals to people and its earned him a paycheck at NB# alongside his other sponsors. Not everyone is supposed to bring the Zero Sundays or Shane O Neill tech to the skate game to be liked/ be pro, etc.

It seems to me that the whole story of progression was that people were kind of sick of 411 openers type of level of skating and that they wanted to see more creative ans relatable tricks in order to bring joy to their life rather than frustration. Hence the flowering of all those various niches and local companies in skateboarding.

This brings me joy.
