this looks cool as hell tho

So what’s this “Diamond Matrix (DMx) coating technology”? @Quantum Bearing Science @Quantum_Bearing_Science

Is it diamond like carbon coating or something different? I’ve been waiting for years for someone to use diamond like carbon coating in a useful way in some product a normal person can buy.

That's quite a leap.

I'm actually interested in trying these, but what's the difference between Quantum Isotope Ceramic Hybrid Series Bearings and Quantum Atom Ceramic Hybrid Series Bearings? Yes, I read the descriptions (makes one seem better for street and the other cruising) but is there an actual difference or is it just nonsense? Also how do these compare to Bones Swiss which I've skated exclusively since I was like 10 (now 30)? I've been a lot more willing to try new stuff as of late and these intrigue me. Plus I wanna try new things before I'm too old.

I was gonna say I wonder how Bones feels about a rider that has a pro wheel for them skating for another bearing company but there's probably more than a few now that I briefly looked. Gravette on Bronson etc.

Thinking of ordering a second set of these. If I understand it correct, Isotopes are better for impact and the Atoms are better for speed?  I

have the Atoms in a board set up more for bowls and transition (been great btw) and now looking for some bearings that can take a bit more of a street beating...

Please advise. @Quantum_Bearing_Science

You’re correct.  Both series are strong but Isotopes would be slightly stronger.  Both series are fast but the Atoms would be a little faster.  That’s why we price them the same.

So you can't go wrong with either. There are differences, but it's unlikely they can be perceived in a real-world setting. I run the Isotopes and they're the fastest bearings I've ever had. They're definitely no worse than Swiss and lots of people (including me) like them significantly better than Swiss.

Ok cool thanks. I just bought some of the swiss 6 for the first time last week during the Black Friday sales, but kinda wishing I'd picked up these instead. Might have to try the Isotopes the next time I get bearings.

As someone who owns both atoms and isotopes, I have no clue what the difference is. I don't do any high impact skating so I haven't busted the atoms, and they both spin great still after a year or so. The isotopes I guess are slightly more durable so maybe that's the safer buy but I can say honestly I'm happy with both and would be hard pressed to say one is "faster" or "better".

To any nay sayers in this thread, I invite you to put a set into a brand new set of wheels then take a couple pushes on some smooth concrete. All it took for me.

Whats crazy is that TJ is in a state of simultaneously being both on and of Quantum Bearings until someone checks this thread.  Only then does he become on.   :o :o  :o
