I just don’t skate.
Then I do.

Too much thinking up in here.

Got through the winter with Fossil Night Fridays with the good homies... skated hard for 5 hours a week. Now that the weather is changing I skate whenever I can. Glad to have a group of friends on the same tip because that motivates me to skate much more. Less organized is better, spontaneity is the spice.

I get summers off and during those months, 2 sessions a day definitely happens. I don't have kids and the people in my life understand and appreciate how important the skateboard is to me.

for some reason I need to not eat for for 4 hours prior, skating 4pm to 9pm is ideal for me for some reason

I don‘t like to skate with a full stomach, best is in the morning prior to lunch or just before supper. Alternatively go out immediately after a light meal and skate before digestion kicks in.

I've mostly stopped having routines with skating because it ruins the fun for me. My OCD definitely plays a factor in that. Always feel the need to do a kickflip early in the session though and if there's a ledge I like to end off the session with a quick front 50

I just don’t skate.
Then I do.

I see where you are coming from and agree in principle. On the other hand I am very structured/organized, it helps me to stay sane. At the end of the day it‘s a character thing I guess, whether you like/need schedules or not. No right or wrong.
why come?

Get up on Monday morning. Get a coffee. Go to work. Check slap on my lunch break. Getting hyped on skating after work. realize how weak and kaputt my body has gotten, since I’m in my mid forties. Postpone the plan to go skate until the weekend.
Weekend comes. Family plans only allow for two, three hours. Skate. Feeling sore the entire Sunday.

Start over again on Monday

There are definitely people who find structure fun. For me it got overbearing but it's cool to see people become productive through enjoying organization

I just go when I can, for as long as I can. It’s never often enough.

Haha very similar routine...i work mon-fri and have 2 kids. By the time im off work im hanging out with the kids and fam until the go to sleep. Normally saturday morning i will go skate for about 3 hours at the park or either go at night. Sunday, i try to go hit a curb spot for an hour then start my week over. Sometimes if the family have plans on weekend i will just take my flat bars out front to skate them. As long as i get one decent session in per week im pretty happy with that nowadays.

I am old and broken, but still skate around 2-3 days a week (as weather & work allow)

-Foam roller for 45 minutes
-Hot shower
-Drive 5 minutes to my local park
-Stretch again
-Do nollie half-cab on small bank
-Manual the bank/manny pad\bank frontside then backside... usually takes about 5-6 tries each, then I am usually warmed up enough to try some other things.  Sessions last between 1-2 hours depending how I feel... Yesterday sucked, christmas complete orientation day...

3 times a week, more if I'm lucky/feel good/not working on projects

Ironic enough, I skate more in the summer when it's 115 degrees outside but that's mostly due to the days being longer and having the time to take a nap after a long workday and still having a couple hours of sunlight

I hate skating at night, I'll do it, but I hate it

I tend to get 2-3 sessions in - 1-2 in the morning during the work week, 1 on the weekend.

During the week I usually have to get up at about 6 am to give myself enough time for a productive session.

Now that this is a fairly regular occurrence, I've found that my ability to skate in the morning has improved drastically, which rocks because the parks are usually empty in the morning. Anyone else an early bird?
