Just general sightings in Melbourne - I'd never bail someone up on the street so they're not really encounters.

Chris Hemsworth
Guy Pierce
Margot Robbie
Charlie Hunnam

Edit: Prince Paul is the nicest dude for having a conversation with me at a record store next to the club he was going to spin at also around 1999.

I have never encountered an actual celebrity before. I met David Suzuki at an airport once and shook his hand. Hundreds of pro skaters are probably even more famous than him though.

I see him at the gym all the time….going buck on the crunch machine…he’s like 80 or something….he seems pretty pissed….

That's pretty crazy. He's 86 and has lived through some shit. With his passionate beliefs, I can understand why he'd be so pissed off these days.

When I was about 8 or 9 years old my cousin and I found a way to sneak into the club section at Dodger stadium during games. We were walking around and my cousin just pointed out look there’s Billy Barty. Got his autograph but still can’t quite understand how my ghetto cousin noticed who he even was in the first place.

When I first worked at the grocery store where I’m still at I was picking up my check and the lady behind the counter said have you seen Endless Summer? Let me introduce you to Robert August and he was standing right next to me. He would come in to shop every week and I had a pretty good rapport with him till he moved.

i was at a bar for my birthday that brokencyde came to after they played a show nearby, so i ended up partying and hitting the dance floor with brokencyde. they were really cool. some of the worst music ever though. i think that night was the last time i ever had fun in my 20s, a precursor to the lowest years of my life, had a gnarly panic attack the next day that sent my life into a spiral.

Back in like 2007, I met Hulk Hogan at a Walmart where he was doing photo ops while his daughter was signing her debut CDs. My mom and aunt forced me, my younger brother, and all three of my cousins to wait in this ungodly line that wrapped around the entire clothing section of this walmart.
Well, we finally make it up to the table where everything was going down. My mom and aunt immediately go straight to his daughter while us kids went straight to the Hulkster himself. This was before all of the controversy broke, but I remember him being pretty cool and friendly. We got a group photo taken with him and, as we started walking off, he says "hey, kid" I turn around and he stuck his hand out to shake mine. All he said was "Stay in school, brother" while his gigantic ham of a hand engulfed my little seventh grader hand.

got a hogan encounter in my family too, probably the year 2000ish.  Down in tampa my dad and brother were at Target while we were on vacation, they were casually stopping by the videogames and out of no where Hulk Hogan comes up and checks out the games too and even then bitched about how expensive they were.  As a huge wrestling fan when i was little, i was absolutely crushed i didn't go on that target trip

Helped Bryan Cranston park his Vespa scooter in our shop during an appearance.  Nicest guy, super normal.

You win. The Barbarian Bros. are such a frequent reference point with some of my oldest friends. Anyone in on the crop top trend in skate fashion should bow to these two.

Didn’t they do a movie about a super advanced remote control with Shawnee Smith or am I imagining that?

Also, greatest deleted scene ever:

I may have mentioned this one before, hung out at Tom Green's house near Universal Studios, sometime around 2008. He had a late night type of show and my friends were the guest band. Since I was hanging out with them that day, they invited me and my girlfriend at the time, to tag along. When we got there, Tom greeted us at his front gate/door and was super cool about the extra guests. He stated that guests of the show rarely brought anyone along but was excited to have an "audience." The other guests were a famous chef (can't remember his name) and Eric Roberts, who was a major douche. Eric Robert's spent most of his time name dropping, promoting his son's work? and bragged about his upcoming "major" role in the new "Batman movie", which turned out to be The Dark Knight. Before the show started, Tom gave us a tour of his house. The studio and kitchen were in the main house, he lived in the guest house with his two huge dogs. His staff were also very nice. The chef cooked an incredible meal for everyone. I was able to chat with Tom about skateboarding, being on Birdhouse, etc. Tom was super excited to talk skateboarding.

i was briefly on mike rowe's show returning the favor where i was paid to provide a gift to the main person being featured. interacted with mike mostly in a work style way with producers and him just explaining the flow of everything.

when i was a kid i was on the same plane as president carter flying to thailand. i to d&d at the time and took some graph paper and went up into first class and asked for his autograph. his daughter with him and was kind of cute and kind of laughing at me. overall awkward but i was like 12 and pretty stoked.

we saw danny glover at an airport in sweden when i was kid also. he was loading up a bunch of gucci suit cases into his vehicle which was really rare to see in those days. not like seeing people with lv bags now.

Idk if anyone is familiar with Shane Mauss, but I did a night at a club with him back in my stand up days, and he was the coolest fucking dude. I've worked with and met a few high level comics, Rich Vos probably being the most famous I've worked with, I met Delia, Duncan Trussell, and Joe Rogan way before he blew up, and most of them don't have the time of day for you (although Duncan and Joe were super cool too) but the night I performed with Shane we closed the bar down drinking wine and talking psychedelics. He kept ripping my weed pen to the point where it was almost gone. But he was a very cool dude.

I messaged him a couple years after that and he had no idea who I was, but he also got black out drunk that night.

Edit: I just remembered one conversation we had was about how he was vaping DMT out of PAX dry herb pens meant for weed haha. This was back in 2015/2016. He was on the cutting edge of DMT.

I think ive said this on here before but from 18-20 I worked nights at a leather/fetish store in Seattle and Dave Grohl came in one day. I knew he looked super familiar and he was super cool and we chatted for a solid 20-30 minutes about kink and just general life stuff. My coworker rang him up and asked for a ID to go with the credit card and after he left my coworker was like “That guys name was Dave Grohl, does that sound familiar?” Thats when it clicked for me. Super nice guy.

I put in a serious night of drinking with Ben Shepherd from Soundgarden. He knew the owner of one of the glassblowing studios I helped build and operate. He called me a pussy for liking White Zombie and I made fun of him for only listening to country music now. Again, super nice dude with no rockstar ego.

Through that same glassblowing connection I met Chad Channing who did the drums for Nirvanas album Bleach. He dropped by because Mudhoney was playing a free show so we helped him make his own little personal glass bowl and hung out for a bit.

This is a super niche and kinda dumb one but I used to play with this older bear in Seattle who was really in to suspension bondage and he loved me because ive always been really small so im easy to hoist up. He was doing a thing for this art festival and Dan Savage was there as kind of like a “judge” for lack of a better term. So my buddy had me put on a pair of tighty whiteys and suspended me from this crazy structure and wrote “It Gets Better” all down my torso.

I met and interviewed Rick Ruben after mistaking him for a homeless person. It was wild to sit down and put a mic on him, minutes after thinking he needed to get kicked out of the lobby

I had Giles Martin (abbey road studios) stare at me in the eyes and call me a wanker during an interview. That was weird

I was trapped in a house with Kevin Bacon, his wife and a few other comedians for 12+ hours. All hilarious people when they’re just killing time together. Couldn’t stop laughing

I broke up a fight between the Boy Meets World cast during a live interview. Eric is a Trumper and Angela has beef with Topanga

I interviewed Swae Lee while he got high on his bed with his pet monkey. Said he loved COVID because he could do 4 virtual concerts in a day and get paid the same

I interviewed Matthew Mcconaughey. Nothing notable, super nice

Interviewed Simone Biles. She was on tour and her schedule was insanely packed. It is wild how quickly she just turns it on for an interview

I interviewed Common while he smoked a blunt to prepare for it. Very kind person and all smiles, pre and post blunt

I did a sound check with Sporty Spice and she’s an amazing DJ and musician. Has that shit dialed in for a one person show

There’s a few more I’m missing. Met a lot of cool people through previous jobs but am very happy to be out of that pressure cooker and in a boring job.

I want to hear more about what David grohl bought and what his kinks are.

Ps is the store you worked at like Mr S in SF? Bought some stuff from there and would be down to check out more leather stores with webpages.

Many years ago, I was riding my bike on the sidewalk (allowed up to a certain age), and suddenly the passenger door of a parked Ferrari opened up and out came a small kid running in front of my bike. I almost hit him, I was inches away from running over him on my bike.

I turned around, and out of the other side I see Teemu Selänne coming out of the car.

Once in Zurich, I was riding my bike and was gently overtaken/passed by a Bentley - as we stopped at the next traffic lights I look inside and see it was Roger Federer. Good day to you, sir!

My co-worker once took an elevator and met George Michael in the elevator. No words were exchanged.

My father-in-law was once at a bar and met a friendly Englishman who he sparked a conversation with. After a rather lengthy discussion, at some point my FIL asks the Englishman what he did for a living, to which he replied that he was an actor. "Oh really? What kind of movies?" -Different kind of movies... but for example James Bond", he replied. Only then did my FIL realize that he was Sean Connery.

I’m sure Connery loved this. Must be so weird if everyone think that (and sort of do) know you. It’s already awkward with skate pros, how weird must it be for someone whom literally everyone knows and has an opinion about.

I once got to hang out with Taiwanese superstar Wang Lee Hom at a movie set in Hong Kong and Macao for like three days. (He’s one of the top three Popstars here that teenage girls flip out about.) Once we drove in a car past a billboard ad covering the side of a huge skyscraper showing his face with him in the car. I asked him how he felt about that sort of stuff and he said you get used to it.

He released a podcast in 2020 and my team was tasked with grabbing video and photos of their recording sessions. The house is I think his studio, with the entire thing flipped into recording studios and a kitchen.

went go-carting with Elijah Wood & Eugene Hutz
He’s quite short I’m 6’3” and I felt like I was towering over him. Met him and Dominick (Merry)   post LOTR movie in Aspen at Gogo bordello show. They were 3 people behind us, he sported out rounds of drinks that night as we had a good laugh about Radio Flyer movie.

i met hacksaw Jim Duggan at a flea market in 2010, he signed a pressure treated 2x4  and I ended up installing it as a railing on the deck in the house I was living at the time. When i sold the house, I shewed the new owner the autograph,  (on the underside of the railing) he chuckled.

Edit: Prince Paul is the nicest dude for having a conversation with me at a record store next to the club he was going to spin at also around 1999.

Some people are straight up legends and Carol Burnett is one of them. That's rad.
