Pivoting 180 fliptricks
« on: November 26, 2023, 01:18:14 PM »
Hey y'all,

Over the past year I've gotten quite okay at FS flip's and BS heels, but they're still always a bit of a struggle and cost a lot of energy because I have no clue how to pivot them. Ofcourse it's nicer if you complete the full rotation in the air, but I think learning how to pivot them will make me more consistent at them and then I can also throw in a lazy fs flip/bs heel instead of having to put in a lot of effort everytime.

Can someone explain to me how the hell it works. I never pivoted my 180's and I recently decided to learn how that works, and with some succes. But throwing in a flip trick just makes it feel impossible as I always have to focus on catching the trick, and by the time it registers that I caught it, I have no time to focus on the pivot anymore.
Any tips?

Thanks!

Throw your front foot down more like you’re going to do a nose bonk or nose grind then just rotate the rest once the front wheels hit. Personally, I prefer to revert mine(I always sucked at full 180 in air) so a friend taught me to turn 90 in air and when the wheels hit, slide the rest. If done quick they can actually look really good. Try a nollie without a lot of pop, turn 90, when you wheels hit push that shit around. Then apply that to whatever 180 variations you want.
Hopefully that helps.

Never pivot unless you must.
