« on: May 16, 2023, 12:16:09 AM »
I could'nt find the 8.125 Deluxe deck I like to ride so I finally got a WKND cause it had the same Wb.I really struggle on that melow tail.Plus, I find the deck stiff af and the turning with indys terrible...I guess it's a mater of time to get use to it but damn, my first sesh with it what a nightmare.
How did you guys like it?

Depends on which 8.125 you got, they have a few shapes for each dimension, and they measure flat across instead of tip to tip. The 8.125 x 31.625 x 14.125 is probably 31.125 tip to tip, so you'd get a really short tail which I personally hate.

Venture Truck Height:

5.0 & 5.2 LO
STANDARD - 1.88” - 47.75mm
FORGED - 1.85”- 46.99mm

5.0 ,5.2, 5.6, 5.8 & 6.1 HI
STANDARD - 2.09” - 53.09mm
FORGED - 2.04” - 51.82m

That's right...Mine is the 6.5 inches tail.It ain't actually the size of it that bother me but rather the mellowness.
Well, I'm gonna test it with some mini riser pads just to see.
Thx dude;)

interesting, i had the opposite experience i thought my wknd deck got soggy too quickly

i do believe psstix has a reputation for being inconsistent, but it could also just be all in my head

Had the GX1000 8.125 awhile back which I believe is the same shape as WKNDs. I tried it with so many different truck and wheel combinations and ended up giving it to someone who worked at my local.. way too short and stubby and cramped feeling. I'm actually trying out the DLX 8.12x32 shape now and love it. Looks like Polar makes a similar dimension 8.125 and Baker's 8.125 B2 decks look to be very similar too though I heard their measurements are off

they are also heavier than others.I compared with the anti hero I had before:
the WKND is 1,26Kg and 1,18 Kg for the Deluxe for the same size.It must be cause of the wood treatment with more epoxy. That is also what makes hem stiffer and stronger.

DLX 8.125x32x14.25 is same as Polar 8.125x32x14.25, Baker B2 8.125 is much mellower and shape is bit different than Polar or DLX decks.

Best deck I had was a AH 8.125 Wb 14 31.38 long. And they are so hard to find here in Europe...

I was looking at those before, but never went through with trying it out because of how small it is length wise. What trucks and wheels did you setup with it?

Might be the wheelbase and tail length. WKND will often have 14" or less WB and very short tails with minimum fingers of flat, even on 8.25 and 8.38 decks.

on te WKND I have it's almost 3fingers before it kicks...No wonder the leverage sucks.

Yeah that's how the 8.25 shape was that I skated. It takes a little while to get used to but once you are it feels good.
