Gonna guess asking people if it's "haunted" instead of satanic is less a mistake and more a tactic to get people to talk (especially if it's a somewhat boring conservative area). Maybe the hope was when asking someone they'll just blurt out no it's not haunted but the buildings are owned by blah blah and represent this n that etc. If you ask is it satanic and they just go "yep" it's not really good for your video.
