wow. this video gave me that same feeling of awe and excitement the first two happy mediums gave me. I wasn't really feeling the last few (although I haven't watched them in a very long time) but I enjoyed the heck outta this one. great seeing John Motta ripping. every part was bonkers and had memorable tricks in it. Jason's back 3 double kickflip on that ditch hip is probably the best thing I've ever seen him do. I think I finally, "get," Jeff Stevens.

great stuff from everyone involved. these guys have been getting after it for almost two decades! respect!

What year is this ?!?

Felt like I was watching a video from 2011 again. With that being said, it was enjoyable. Glad to see abunch of mids 30 year olds still passionate about skating.

Maybe unpopular opinion but vx1000 in 2024 is just an injustice.

Allen.

AHM is The Matrix of skate videos
AHMs 1-3 were all really good in my opinion. 3 is probably my favorite of the series. 4 and onwards I can leave but the O'Shea brothers put out amazing videos for a good stretch.

At their best the Happy Medium videos put together industry-standard production values, a consistent but ever-evolving crew of Arizona standouts, and a focus on desert spots that stood out in the skate internet of the 2010s.

I think when they showcased less "traditional" rippers and more Jason Park/Killian Martin/Jeff Stevens type guys and moved away from normal music in favor of even more Radical Face and then Death Grips the formula was lost.

The wacky stuff in earlier videos was balanced out by a good amount of classic footage and riders.

I watched about half of this one and skipped the "creative" dudes' sections and was impressed. It's great seeing John Motta and Johnrob Moore still skating and the Happy Medium dudes still making videos.

What’s the name of this genre of music that had skate videos, especially indie/crew videos, in a chokehold from 2009-2014ish? Like dramatic motion picture music but also vaguely depressing.

Anyways, AHM videos feature the best of neurodivergent skating. I watched AHM2 basically daily during the lowest point in my life and it was a small sliver of light.

Definitely felt like this one was up there with the first 3

I honestly didn’t dare to hope for another John Motta part at this level. One of my all time favourites. Happy Medium indeed!

do you mean the Explosions in the Sky/ Edward Sharpe and Magnetic Zeroes days?

I think that genre is called, "boring."

Agree with the sentiments so far, this one gave me the same feelings as their first AHMs! The O’Sheas kept it simple and didn’t try to do too much this time around.

Funny seeing John Rob Moore rocking the skinny pants after all his years of the baggies. Also like someone said, so happy to have a new John Motta part in 2024. He is in my top 5.

Best of all, no Death Grips this time!!

Always loved John Rob Moore footage and this was no exception. The last couple videos felt like they were trying too hard to recapture the magic from the originals, this one felt like they got closer to that feeling by trying some new things (like the different formats and b-roll).

I wonder how younger people feel about it and if I only like it because of my obsession with the first two as a kid.

felt weird to not have a josh part, don't get me wrong i still listen to radical face and whatnot on occasion but this felt like overkill. jaws part was classic as always, I think a lot of these dudes went from people in the industry to nobodies and it shows.

That angle for jaws ender was beautiful. Looks like they might've done some nice hedge clipping to make the spot work. Duct taped hands lookin' raw too

a josh part would’ve perfectly balanced things out IMO.

These will always have a special place in my heart. For a while the Arizona/southwest scene was on the forefront of weird and playful skating which has become fairly common nowadays.

Thanks for sharing this. One of my favourite parts as a kid but it's been YEARS since I've watched it. So much nostalgia.

Loved the soundtrack so much, and in my opinion one of the best edited skate videos ever made.  Those transitions were next level.  Been watching Motta’s part every day before going skating.
