Since both dollars are at par, I checked out the Apple site to compare Ipod Touch price differences.

I'm not sure how much tax is in most states, but so I entered my favourite zip code 90210.

For a 16 gig iPod Touch with tax is:

$431.92 USD in California

and

$516 CAN in Ontario.

Pretty soon, all the hookers from Michigan will be crossing the border, looking for a raise.

Probably cheaper if you go to Active with some Canadian Tire dollars.

You're from Canada, I'm guessing? Decks in the U.S. are like 45-55, depending on type, pricepoint or pro, etc. Shoe prices  vary widely, as I assume they do in Canada, but Accels are about $64, so you can kinda use that to calibrate the rest of the prices.

And I guess this is just me being a seventeen year old ignorant American, I've only been to Canada two or three times, but I had noticed that the prices of things were higher numbers, but always assumed that it evened out after you calculated the difference between U.S. and Canadian currency. I never realized you guys were actually paying so much more for the same stuff.

thats because for the past thirty(guessing) years the american dollar has been significantly more, so our stuff was more expensive to even it out... now that the dollar shot up so quickly, retail markets have yet to catch up. it could just be temporararily even, so maybe companies dont want to change all the prices immediatly. im just guessing though, but we have to take advantage of it while its still skewed

I never noticed how expensive skate stuff is in Canada, until I see Americans come over and tell us how much shit is there.

We used to go to the States just to get shoes and shirts because it was cheaper, even when a US dollar was $1.20-$1.30 Canadian.

Paypal and eBay are still upping it 2-3 cents on the dollar, so it's technically not at par online just yet. Still better than what it used to be.

I've always wanted to live in Canda... and I may very well go for it if the US keeps things going in the present direction they are.
Wars, the government, out of hand immigration, Micheal Vick, and every thing that has been making the states suck is my motivation.

and price wise, the average deck goes for about $80-90 canadian. blanks are usually about $50. shoes go from anywhere from $100-130. so for the most part, we pay almost double for the same product as you folk.
