Disagree, lakai is still a good company making solid shoes. Wes would be cool but his stock is too expensive for them.

Perez and Alvarez come to mind for me before the new gen of  baneroot, manchild and griffin gass. it's taking a certain kind of skater these days to pull off lakais, but they are traSH BUT doesn't mean "no one has looked good in lakais in 20 years"

I love my lakais and I think they look good and they're not failing me in terms of durability

the manchester select is a top 3 favorite skate shoe for me. that brown rick howard shoe that came out around 2006 was great too.

That has been thrown in my face a few times. What little credibility I had is long gone.

I don't really understand the need to dunk on Lakai, they're already struggling against the mega billions of corporate shoe companies, they aren't a threat to anybody. In the meantime, their shoes are good, they have a great team, and make enjoyable videos. I know people don't care about things being skater owned, but it still seems like it ought to be a positive aspect.

Anyway, Wes Kremer is one of my favorite skateboarders of all time. He is a SOTY, so I think he's gotten some significant shine, but he also keeps himself relatively low key on purpose, so maybe that's why it seems like he's under the radar. If that last part is any indication, he's got many more years of killer shit ahead of him too.

I have a couple pairs of NBs and I don't understand the hype around corporate shoes which are supposedly so much better than the skate brands. Nothing special about them and I actually did not like the NBs (1010) I skated, and the 508s I have on deck feel flimsy when I wear them around. Lakais, Vans and Soletech are just as good, maybe even better. Hate to say it but skaters bought into all that expensive marketing around Nike, Adidas, etc.

Lakia has some booty shoes in their line up but I back them as a company. The Cambridge skates really well also.
