What's the point in buying an empty office?

Any fucker can fly to Guangzhou and get clothes and accessories mass produced for next to nothing. I reckon those 10 people will just start something new using the knowledge and connections they gained establishing Comune. Leaving the Comune brand to go all Bum Equipment in the hands of some corporate douche. This type of thing happens all the time.

It's not just buying an office.  They own the comune name, as well as all of the contracts with factories, distributors, etc etc.
All the talent is gone though... basically the whole creative team.

Yup. It will basically be a different company under the same name.

Worked out well for World Industries...

they should have started smaller and kept more of the company under their control. to my understanding they started the company with investors who collectively own more of the company than the actual owner. but in turn they were able to blow up alot faster with ads in thrasher right off the bat and prob a large sales staff that they could afford because of these investors. but honestly what do you expect? skateboarding is the #1 victim of culture vultures. everybody be jocking our styles and reselling to normal kids (pac sun anyone?)
