Next pair of shoes I'm buying
« on: January 17, 2013, 08:54:54 PM »
Alright, I'm looking to buy some new shoes. Trying to stay away from the Nike market from now on. Currently skating some Janoski's (yes, I know. Nike is for kooks) and I have a pair of G6's that I'll be skating for a while after, but I like to stay stocked just in case something happens.
So, I'm looking for a pair of shoes that break in fairly quick, have a narrow toe cap, and are vulcanized.
I've seen you guys' opinions on here and they seem pretty to the point. So shoot some recommendations to help me out.

it's okay to hate but you need to apply all hate evenly and fairly.

Busenitz vulcs?
They're a bit pricy. And I'm looking to buy from companies that are skater owned. (i.e. Emerica, Lakai, etc.)

These sound right up your alley. Cosme recommended them to me, mine should be here within a week. I'll probably stick with them if I'm happy with them.

Other suggestions:
Emerica Hsu 2 (old herringbone grip that wears out way too fast, though)
Lakai Marc (not as pointy as the Hufs or Emericas)

Or Adidas Skates if you can't support those 3 skater-owned companies.
I've been wanting to try Hufs for a long time, just haven't found a pair that were visually appealing. Those look sick though.
I've been wanting to try another pair of Lakai's but it's been a while and the last pair I had were super heavy. I want to try them though.

Dekline Belmont. Slim but well padded and super sturdy. They definitely take some breaking in but they are great shoes. And they are currently on sale for $20

Those look sick. I haven't heard much about Dekline shoes though. I'll do some research into it.
That price is enticing though.

they're great. the sole is really grippy and solid and it lasts FOREVER. these particular shoes have a rubber layer underneath the toe cap. it's stiff at first and you have to break it in but it gives the shoes a much longer life.

The Mariano from Lakai. Really good, feel great right from start and fit really well on your feet. At least on my feet...

HUF - Southern - Black Tan

Please, don't ask me why but - although I live in Spain -, I know of a Melbourne store that have some sizes left...

You're welcome.   ;D

haha thanks,

that store is just around the corner from the skate store I work at.

So I dunno if I can stomach walking to a rival and paying full price,  maybe if they were on sale.

Cheers though.

Gravises are super good. Wish they were going to stick around longer. Great board feel.
Have you ever wondered if there was more to life, other than being really, really, ridiculously good looking?
