Question about janoski's
« on: July 10, 2013, 03:51:08 PM »
Hey there,

I was skating these old adidas campus shoes. I LOVED those shoes, but they were completely dead.

So a friend of mine who is sponsored by Nike SB gave me three new pairs of janoski's to skate in (or wear).

I just wore one pair today, to break em in a little bit.

But is it me or is the ventilation reeeeeeeeeeally reeeeeeeeeally bad on these?
It's a standard suede model with lunarlon insoles but me feet can't get any air.

I just cruised around in the town yesterday while i was getting groceries. I didnt do anything major, but my feet were sweating the whole time. When I got home my feet were completely soked. I dont think i've had this happen to me... ever. Not even with the thick DC's we wore in the late 90's.

Same story today while I was just walking around.

Is this a common problem with these?

The boardfeel was really good though... so that's a plus.

Thanks for any info,

k.

if they're good enough for kids on scooters at the skatepark, they're good enough for me.

Just skated these for the first time ever, saw the classic black/white colorway at the shop and gave them a go. All I have to say is that those shoes fucking suck! After the first session, before they were even broken in, the seam on the side wall ripped up bad, and a hole was happening on the kickflip area. They lasted me a total 2.5 weeks before they were completely fucked up, it was embarrassing, I thought Nike was about quality shit? Isn't that the reason we gave those bastards a G-pass in the first place? Not to mention I had to tie my laces every 10 minutes because they kept loosen up, and they are so god damn cock sucking narrow my feet was in deep pain for days. 90$ for that shit! Fuck Nike

Why do I feel like I'm the only one who can't put different insoles inside Janoski's? Anything other than the ones that come with the shoes and my ankle is way above the collar and my foot feels like it's falling out 24/7...maybe it's just me.
I don't know how all these kids claim that they're the greatest shoes ever, they're actually pretty shitty.

I've put in the kingfoam insoles which are about the same thickness of the regular stock insoles, and they work fine. Any insole thicker than the stocks will have your feet slippin out unless you get mids.
Bro imagine austyns face, but on biebels body!

I tried footprint insoles in them and had the same issue, it was ok in mids though.

I had a pair of the black/whites when they first came out and they were great. They lasted ages and only died once I'd worn through the front of both shoes almost completely. More recent pairs have felt completely different and have had all sorts of problems. I know the decline in quality has been well documented already but it really does seem horrid now compared to what it was.

never really noticed a ventilation problem, and I have had 3 pairs of suede/leather janoskis. I could see it happening though, if your someone who tends to have sweaty feet, the ones I had didn't have any kind of ventilation system at all. But I am so over janoskis. I liked the way they look, but not the way they skated. I have narrow feet and my foot always slid around inside of the shoe, there just isnt enough padding locking my foot in place, and I have had my ankles minorly roll more than a couple times in that shoe because of that. Last summer I sprained my ankle so bad. I have since sworn off janoskis. Just not the right shoe for me.
