his character in the talented mr. ripley will forever haunt all average/lower-income kids who had to be surrounded by upper class/aristocrat douche bags in high school or college.

This honestly ruined my day, probably my weekend, and maybe my week. He was one of the greatest actors of all time and should be remembered as such, not as a heroin addict. His role in Capote is probably my favorite PSH role

Bummer. Had no idea he was smacked up.

Sometimes it's the person you most suspect but a lot of the times it's the complete opposite, junk doesn't discriminate.

An absolute tragedy that almost rang echos of a Phil Hartman/Chris Farley/Heath Ledger saga, as people with incredible talent are struck down in their prime by truly unfortunate circumstances.

A word of advice to the Slap Young'ins, "Don't do heroin, it is the real beast that never goes away."
