I watched Kareem Campbell miss a bs flip on flat a couple of times but in Tony hawk pro skater I can get one every time with him so does that mean that I’m better at being him skating than he is?  I’m over here like Wwhhhaaaaaaaaa????

Yo TNT has a bad reputation, especially here lol, but he did a really nice thing once and I witnessed it. A huge forest fire spread and ripped through his hometown a few years back while I was living out there volunteering in schools. Since school obviously closed for a bit when the town was evacuated, they had us volunteering at donation and collection hubs for essential goods that would go to displaced people.

I'd been outside in the sun rooting through donations and sorting them so they could be sent where they were needed when I see a dude and his kid walking up with a bunch of boxes and bags of new and slightly used vans. It was TNT, and he asked me where to put the shoes. I pointed him in the right direction, wondering if I should tell him I knew exactly who he was.

Eventually he passed back by and I just said, "hey aren't you Tony Trujillo?" He said yeah, I asked him for a pic and he happily obliged. It was like, 30 or 40 pairs of shoes if I remember correctly.

A lot of people make fun of vov for his Evel Knievel shit but he's probably one of the best vert dudes ever and he did a fucking loop opened up switch. Also he's one of the nicest dudes I've ever run into in skateboarding. I grew up in Vista and I've seen him around a ton and he's never acted like a big shot. Just a really positive and cool dude. Good vibes

Also obviously the birdman is very cool and nice, Riley and his crew are chodes though

He may have been facing some indifference around the time he got on Flip, but I feel like ever since his Dreamland part Vov has received the acclaim and respect he deserves as the Best Vert Skater which has been particularly sweet in sweeping Danny Way under the rug

Also, i was skating the Vista park once and Bucky was there trying to land a kickflip on this big ass bank and I was giving him grief saying "ok Bucky, it's 2001 again, but Bob did his run first, and if you land this kickflip you'll get to rob him of gold." and he cracked up and was a real champ about taking shit from a sub par skater like me. He didn't land it that try though

lol not really but in his defense it was out in front of a bar after it closed for the night, I think it might have been summer 2014 but I'm not really sure.

It sort of went like this;

Nick Merlino: nice bike
Me: thanks
Nick Merlino: no, I'm fucking with you
Me: that's okay
Nick Merlino: wait, are you fucking with me?
Me: I don't think I am

End scene.

One time I met Tony Hawk and he kicked me in the nuts really hard out of nowhere and spat at me. The second time I met him he was a perfect gentlemen.

Got into an extended discussion/argument with Ace Pelka in DMs about COVID conspiracy stuff.

I thought his stance was kooky, but he was quite honest and civil about it, so I can’t say he’s a bad guy.

Ben Schroeder however, randomly made a snide remark about my DIY balaclava mask, I think in retaliation for the criticism  I was posting on Duane’s batshit posts.

I think it was funny. Awkward (but not bad) pro encounters worthy.

This is not the most captivating story, but one time about four years ago I was cycling the Santa Ana River trail around late afternoon, almost dusk, and came upon part of the Element team trying to film at a spot (no one really got anything, unless it was before I arrived).

This wasn't the wide open "Skip's Ditch" portion of the river either, this was under the Garden Grove Boulevard bridge; it's narrower, the trail curves, and there's lower visibility. This is the highest traffic time of day, bicycle-wise, and the shadows are long and dark. While everyone else is minding themselves pretty well, Madars Apse decides that all he wants to do is skate flatground directly under the bridge where he's shrouded in total darkness until the last second from all incoming cyclists taking the roll in down directly at him, and he can't really see them until they're hurtling at him.

There were no true close calls, but it was pretty shitty. I saw had old ladies panicking and swerving (but recovering), you had serious cyclists riding with good speed having to veer into the oncoming lane...and he never made an attempt to move. There were no true close calls due to luck, but basically every cyclist he encountered was panicking –– it was entitled and gross. He stayed there for a long time too. I yelled over to him to knock it off from where I stopped to watch for a minute, but he just ignored me. I wasn't really in the mood, so I kept on riding, but it was definitely a display of bad character.

Madars Apse. Me and my homies invited him to ride with us and check the city out. We also smoked with him and I gotta say, he’s hands down the best person I know that rolls. Gotta give it to Madars he’s really good at rolling joints. After we dropped him off to his hotel he even gave me his old board and a bunch of stickers. All around nice guy and tall as fuck

Yeah man I didn't care what so ever, but he missed a better opportunity to make fun of me for how long it took to get my u lock unlocked.
