No slip lacquer or stain for a homemade ramp
« on: March 24, 2015, 08:51:58 PM »
This board gave me good advice on the rub brick (which is amazing thank you by the way) so I'll iust post my (new) diy question here...

My buddy is finishing up a mini quarter/ Jersy barrior ramp. He's going to cover it in plywood.  He also got a new job so as a gift I want to get him a nice lacquer/stain/After coat. One That won't skid or stick and will provide some water proofing. Any recommendations would be appricated

So you can always go with Skate Paint (http://www.skatepaint.com/) but it's pretty pricey.  For a cheaper alternative you could use marine urethane paint http://www.wholesalemarine.com/pettit-easypoxy-high-gloss-topside-marine-paint-82251.html?gclid=CLuu0Oy3xMQCFciBfgodXLQAaw

thanks for the info

its a gift for a good friend so i don't mind spending a little more on something he will be amped on- have you used skate-paint? i might just go with that if the reviews are consistently good.

Is skate lite out of the question? That's the best top layer for wooden ramps I've ever skated. Its definitely pricey but sometimes you can get it used for good deals...just a thought
