That was sick. It still doesn't feel like Alien to me, but if I just think of it as a different company in my head, I dig it. Really stoked on that bs smith on the curved rail. Always wanted to see that trick go down on that spot.

i don't really know who any of these dudes are, but if they're half as good as they seem and the filmer knows how not to overdo HD, it should be a good watch. just going to have to brace myself for the typical Alien usage of random mechanical or nature footage interwoven. i'm not a fan as much of that stuff, same thing with Bronze. too much random other footage that i think takes away from the skating. if Benny Maglinao is still doing some filming for them, it should be fine.

and any ideas what "fuk suk first" is supposed to mean?

i think whoever is editing/filming this should have done their homework. if you're going to reinvent your image, start as a new brand, but if you're going to rehash what you've done before at least make it look good. i find the cut scenes well done but the way its put together, as well as the other vids they've put out since maglinao stopped making them, are just sloppy. i don't think there's ever been a cross dissolve in an alien video. when i think of alien i think analog, and this is definitely super digital looking.

As a long time fan of AWS, and not just a single era or rider, I think this feels very much like an AWS video. I'm really looking forward to seeing it.

This. I know I have to get used to it, but I don't like skate videos in HD.

It makes me sad that I don't know if I'll ever be psyched on AWS again. I'm sure the skating in the video will be good, but this version of the team is as much AWS as World Industries was in 2001 compared to 1991.

it doesn't really feel like you're watching an alien vid, but it's a pretty good vid all in all. really enjoyed brandon nguyen's part, his style is pretty unique.

agreed. the dissolves are really bothersome which is funny because it's such a minor thing. Maglinoa was on the right track and is still doing great shit. regardless, this still looks cool

I think people need to learn how to appreciate HD. I mean I love the vx as much as the next guy but skatevideos cant stay stuck in the same era forever. There are a bunch of dudes doing HD right (Henry Edwards Wood, Strobeck, Benny Maglinao, etc.) and their videos look dope. Learn how to embrace change people!

Joey starts it out. Frankie, then some other dudes. And Brandon ends it.

It was pretty good. Brandon skates pretty cool and Joey Guevara is pretty good too. I gotta say though the editing was really underwhelming. I was hoping for something on par with the Alien cinematographer project section.

brandons part is really sick he has some really epic wall rides style so chill it looks like he's sleeping. My local shop had a premiere last week the vid is really short but the skating is good. Its not much artsy editing but it does the job. Yeah it feels kinda weird being post alien but i think the new squad is sick in this vid

not a fan of the new Alien, but everyone on the team rips. I think that the big takeaway for this is that Alien Workshop is in good hands with these new guys, whether people like the editing or not. Some of these guys should be pro in the near future.

I expect the video to have some good smooth skating along some cool spots. At this point there are only so many ways companies can distinguish themselves with their video presentations so they might as well stick with it. It's a little too on the nose but with time it can evolve. Does anyone who is in charge of this video? I'm not clear if Castrucci or Magliano is involved with AWS at all.

I really liked that. Never heard of him before but Max Garson had my favorite stuff in the video. The way I see it is if the guys who moved to FA are happy there and Gilbert, Jake and Tyler Bledsoe are happy with Quasi, then let these new guys have a shot with turning Alien into something again.
