ya know tracer, i generally agree w/ that. i wasn't in the other thread backing anti nazi violence but a lot of others were and i'm offering them the opportunity to put their money where their mouth is. dude is a good homie, usedta skate baton rouge w/ me when i was homeless, take me out to sushi, whatever. he's more than 'dude who beat up a nazi' and if anyone deserves a hand it's him.

according to the link the "nazi" was unhurt, the assault in question involved a swastika armband being forcibly removed from his arm while he was engaging in hate-speech. who knows how it really went down, but that is officially the action that they are collecting money to defend, not somebody punching somebody, in case that makes a difference to anybody.

you left out the part where he admits it was a social experiment, and he didn't say unhurt, he said no MAJOR  injuries. there might have been minor injuries from a punch or whatever

No, knocking out a nazi troll is not worth a criminal record and the judges should really consider this. It is up to them. The dude clearly did the right thing, my only objection being that he should have not removed the jacket with the swastika band when he set it on fire. Also, it should be the nazis doing online petitions to gather money because their mate was performing "social experiments" and caused trouble on campus.

so this is more in line w/ my thinking. tl,dr this smart guy says to ignore people you don't like, it's more dehumanizing than punching which sorta legitimizes their belief. think about it, if you're scared so you have to punch then it means there's something to it that you're repressing. maybe it's not true but people use that as fuel to the fire.
once in 01-02 i was hot off WTO and full of piss and vinegar and pro-protest. my gf at the time said of protests 'they're awful, it's just mad people yelling at each other'. if you want a war, then sure but nobody's opinion is swayed by that shit. at the end of the day you just gotta have more fun, look cooler than the other guys. kind of how skaters won the culture war, not by beating up jocks, just by being awesome [that now we're jocks and the snake eats it's tail].
