Gx1000, sabotage and static.
« on: April 25, 2018, 06:26:42 AM »
I had this idea that if all three of these groups came together, i wonder what would happen. Doesnt have to be all three groups. For example, maybe the gx1000 dudes link with the sabo guys to work on a video. Would it be productive or would it end up in a brawl? Would that even be something people would be interested in? I always thought those three groups specifically could put out something insane together, but maybe they are better off as their own thing.

GX and Sabo are crews whereas Static is just Josh Stewart.

All very very sick and some of my favorite stuff in skating though.

I feel like a GX and Sabo collaboration would be dope, but I’m not entirely sure if the two vastly different personalities would clash or mesh well.

Josh Stewart doesn’t need to collaborate. He’s done just fine as an independent filmmaker.

That is something I would fucking die for. I mean I think both represent raw street skating and both crews have a diverse group of skaters, plus are down with the illegality of skating. This would actually be a match made in heaven. Make it happen Thrasher, we know you back both crews make them link up and destroy!

Thats more so how i should have worded it. I wonder if they would mesh or not. Like another poster said, both are raw and down with the illegality that comes with it. Would be interesting.

Also not saying any of these dudes need to collab in order to stay relevant or what not. They are all fine on their own imo.  Just think these groups represent skating well and would be cool to see the outcome of the linkage.

It will happen. GX and Sabo have different vibes, but when it comes to skating we both love raw shit. Was just in SF talking to ryan bout trying to figure out how we could link the crews

nothing. they would probably stack so many clips on
thousands of mini dv tapes, that nobody will have the
nerves to get through them all to capture all the tricks

This. Let's not forget that the majority of Static 4 (not 5) was filmed by Ryan Garshell.

Yeah, a bunch of the GX1000 dude have a bunch of footage in Static 4 and 5, like Jake and Yonnie have full parts, and I know Al Davis and Brian Delatorre have clips in montages.

Can we throw in the Dime crew too?

Also the common denominator here is POPTART PETE. He deserves his own eponymous video a la "PJ Ladd's Wonderful Horrible Life" featuring Sabo, GX, and Dime.

You both are totally right. I was specifically curious about the “main” dudes of each of those crews right now.

If Gx and Sabotage collaborate, it would look like a Dan Wolfe video.

That aspect of the GX Video was pretty cringe IMO. Great video overall though, for as good as the skating was the filming was even more impressive.

Sabotage has been a great series. They owned that last wind Love got when many thought it already was gone, that alone will put them down in the history books. Also pretty crazy they had such a wide range from flow bros to Ishod fresh off his SOTY to Kalis.

Static is my favorite of all mentioned. Stewart just does it right, there's enough fanfare out there I don't need to write about it.

I guess Bronze and Dime weren't included because they are much less serious but their contributions to skating over the last few years have been as vital as anyone else's.

Ya know its fair to include Dime and bronze. I guess i was more so posting my fantasy as those three groups have been the most influencial to me. But yea i think a collab amongst a few of those groups would be awesome :)
