"Scouting Talent for Brands"' thread
« on: June 18, 2018, 03:33:16 AM »
I thought this could be a fun thread to cut through all the miscreant behavior/controversy as of late.

The truth of time is that generational turnovers are bound to happen & there is a shitload of instagram footy out there to draw from. Being that most of us are fans of the culture, which skaters out there (unknown or small time) do you know of that can match to different brands.

Dezmin Lane: This kid definitely reeks of Cardiel/P-stone influence; he's got some tranny power. Anti-Hero? I mean... the 1-8?

this kid is from the middle of butt fuck nowhere in France and has been doing his thing for a while now; I always thought that in a perfect world, he'd be a great fit on Welcome, if only they had better distribution here and it'd make sense for them to flow some French dude. trick selection isn't always the wisest and all these close-ups on his face after he lands everything make him look kookier than he really is (he's actually super humble and genuine as fuck in real life), but he's a true original, and does some wild shit. I always enjoy watching his clips the same way I'd enjoy a Louie Barletta video. he actually used to be super tech and just kind of stopped giving a shit at some point; he also has one of the best kickflips I've ever seen (not demonstrated in this though, although the kickflip backside tailslide bonk on the trash can gives a hint).

I like this thread. It's crazy how much some dudes absolutely rip who can't make a dime, while NHS tries to move heaven and earth to shove some 50 year old asshats down everybody's throats and waste part of Cons budget on him

Sorry, CBS.  Had to fix your post.  I do wonder if he will still have last part if they release a hard copy??

The brutal truth is that a lot of the 50 year old ass hats  sell a lot of boards. Nostalgia is a motherfucker.

Yeah, cause the keys is what people are focused on.
Not the skating, not at all.

Definitely good style, just a little custodial with all those keys jangling. Kinda reminds me of WadeD

The keys jangling while skating can certainly distract from what a skater is doing- I mean it certainly does for me if I’m watching someone Skate in person.
I don’t get how THAT became a trend anyway.
I'm going to argue that Placebo owes their entire career to a Canadian dude's skate video part. Appleyard should be getting royalties for this shit.

Damn did you really start a thread saying Dezmin Lane should be flow for Anti Hero. He only has shitty sponsors because everyone hates that dude. Trying to get on every shop team in California but nobody will put him on.

used to see this guy skating around sj. definitely a lot of talent, but always acting weird, like telling you what tricks he can do.
