I feel like FA is a much better brand than a skate team, but I wouldn't call them awful. Maybe I'm a hater. This is really hard to answer.
Yeah I kinda agree. FA and Hockey probably have the best art direction and their videos are kind of interesting and unique. The punk vibe is pretty nostalgic. I also dig their board shapes but damn their team is mostly dudes who dont really rip at a pro level. They are fun to watch though so Im not hating on it too much anymore.
I'm not a fan of the FA/Supreme set-up and what there image, but while they have some weak links skating wise (Notably Sean Pablo, Kadow, and Aidan, and its not like Nak has put out anything that special either), they have some legends and some absolutely unreal current skaters such as Gino, Ave, and Dill for legends, while KB, Sage, TJ, and Donovan are absolutely killing it when they drop footage now and everything AA puts out is enjoyable. I'd say that's the case for most brands, its rare for a brand to have a team right now who every skater I feel is likely to have a must watch part (only brand I feel about like that about right now is Quasi off the top of my head).
Ironically, those weak links get the most exposure through those brands. Ben had entire parts in the Hockey videos with two songs that was mostly him making funny faces. I get why people like AA but again his part is like 50% of the entire Hockey videos lmao. I dont need to see 6 minutes of his crappy style even if he is a nice guy in real life or whatever. I agree that Donovon rips and he is probably the best on Hockey but he gets no footage, barely any screen time in the hockey videos (at least in Hockey I and II). He is also not on IG so I dont see much footage of him.
Same goes for TJ and KB. Not a lot of footage and while they do rip, I wish theyd drop more stuff while theyre still young and able to do it. When I was growing up, dudes already had a handful of legit parts under their belt before they turned pro and before SOTY. As far as legends go, Gino and Dill arent in that camp to me. I still watch Ave footage though and he is for sure miles ahead of those guys and a true "legend". Gino and Dill are only really relevant today because theyre cool guys and well liked in real life.
