Cameras Used In Memory Screen/ Early 90s Vids?
« on: December 05, 2019, 12:41:11 PM »
Sup Nerds!!

I was wondering about the cameras that were probably used in AWS's 1991 Memory Screen. Besides the super 8 and 16mm what home video camera do y'all think were used? I'm assuming it would be one of those JVC over-the-shoulder cams that recorded straight to VHS? if anyone else has any info i'd love to hear.

Thank you!

Yeah probably just some shoulder VHS cams consumer grade, maybe some Sony 8mm video.

I know that starting in 1993, Sony released the predecessor to the VX-1000 called the VX-3 which was a 3 chip HI-8 camera and ended up being used in many skate videos in the mid 90s. I think before that it was mostly VHS, but I don't know much of the details whether there was a preferred VHS or 8mm cam and whatnot. Always been curious about that as well.
