Street Board Set Up
« on: January 02, 2020, 11:58:37 AM »
I love skating street and doing more technical flip tricks.  Been also getting into more park skating so over the last year or two I've bumped up from 8 to 8.1 to 8.25 to 8.5 width decks.  I'm loving the 8.5 size but I've been having trouble with my flip tricks.  My current set up is 8.5 deck, Indy 149's and 52 wheels.  Anyone experience something similar?  What are some of other setups that you all use for a wider deck to enjoy both street tech and park?  Thanks!

Go with a short wheelbase. I can skate any width deck just about if it has a wheelbase on the smaller side, and also maybe flick a tiny bit harder to compensate for the wider deck

Thank you!  Hadn't thought of wheelbase size...  I just compared and you are absolutely right...

I typically use Mini Logo Decks and with each width increase the wheelbase increases slightly.  I started with 8' width which was 14' wheelbase and am now at 8.5 width with 14.375'.

I'll have to drill some new holes tonight.

Thanks again!!!

I would try to stay at 14.25 and under and maybe try 144s if you have them. You definitely need a little harder flick or Uncle Primo will stop by to check on you.
