Roll around is what I’ve heard, or layback air roll around.

That caught my attention too. The '70s version is called an "underplant" and I've only seen a photo of Shogo Kubo doing one way below coping (search "Shogo Kubo Thrasher RIP" and it's the first hit). I googled underplant and got a hit for "Poliki" in the wikipedia lip trick list entry, described as a layback lien air.

Would it still be a layback air if it’s grabbed melon?

I would think so but I can’t be totally sure.  From my understanding the layback air is more about the way you pivot on your hand rather than the grab.  I do a lot of them and I actually grab like.. opposite roast beef, if that’s a thing.  Front hand between the legs and on the heel side rail.  Did one in front of Thomas Taylor and he made fun of me for doing a “shitty layback air” but he did call it a layback air, ha!  Again though, I’m not so sure.

It’s funny to me because I thought the layback air was considered a kook trick until relatively recently. If he made fun of yours I’d be ridiculed for mine. I was afraid to go upside down when I did them
