Fuck... it's true. I don't know why it's so hard between father and son, but it always is. I'm the same with all that. One of my fav poems was a Sherman Alexie one where is says how that relationship is a like a Three-legged race, "we try and try to get across the finish line, but we never make it." Most women seem to have the type emotional support system and interpersonal relationship experience that alludes a lot of men for whatever reason; it's a lot of stumbling for some of us.

I always feel like I can expect a sort of group bashing/clowning whenever Mike V's name pop's up, but in the word's of Pastras he indeed was/or is the "blue-collar guy" in skating and he's shared so much of himself over the years. I really appreciate that. Hard not to like.

I played ice hockey for like 9-10 years before I started skateboarding, by the end of it I hated it, I hated everyone on my team, everyone in the league, all the coaches, the parents, the entire culture of ice hockey, I even hated the tragically hip, because all Canadian hockey players loved them in the 90s
I started skateboarding soon afterwards, I see Mike V in a 411 best of 2, playing fucking ice hockey and fighting people in pickup games.
Then he fraught a kicker ramp at a skate park and countless other stupid jock shit.
everybody knows Mike V is a douche.
