That was very much worth watching.

Did I miss a bit, though? Huberman talks about having two tools in your kit but then only mentions one of them.

I think the other may have simply been riding your board as a form of meditation. I’ve been practicing the sighing technique and it’s been helping me often. Good on Jon and DC for making this important piece.

That was a solid watch. I agree, it's good to see companies embrace mental health awareness and initiatives. John Gardner is doing good things for DC.

Wow.

One thing is for sure - people who are happy in life don't say shit like this^, so if anything, you should be thankful there's people talking about things they do that help them deal with their own depression/anxiety etc. Lashing out at others because you're unhappy is a very immature way to cope.

Damn man. you got it all figured out.You should be my life coach. As someone that battles these emotions and urges I sure could use one. Great video though and I am glad these things are being talked about.

That breathing technique really helps. Been doing it ever since I saw him on the Rogan podcast.

This was a great video. Props to all people involved.

Let's try not to let one asshole hijack the thread with self-righteous trolling.

I was glad to see this too. Real talk; Jawn talking about his own bouts of depression was pretty damn powerful to me. From what the public sees he just seems like such a positive, self confident, fun loving guy so most wouldn't expect him to be battling with those issues. Since he's about the last skater you'd imagine to be battling depression he's also the perfect messenger here.

Just reaffirms that everyone's lives are complicated, and sometimes the stresses of the world can be debilitating for us all. We all have to be there for each other and if you're having problems please don't be afraid to talk about it. Hope the video helps some folks out there, good on ya DC.

I can very much relate to the things talked about in the video. A lot of feelings come up: I feel proud of John and connected to him. I use breathing sometimes to help me get through something and I have had similar struggles in my life.
No doubt it is progress that mental health is being discussed more openly these days!
I very much hope mental Wellness will be more of a factor in the way we structure our schools and our work environments!

Maybe I am a little oversensitive but these types of videos also leave me feeling slightly manipulated and dirty. I cannot shake the fact that they quite consciously use my feelings with the final aim to sell me their damn shoes… Talking about boundaries…

Maybe you should make a video on how to eliminate depression. Seems like you got it figured out.

I have one word of advice for anyone with suicidal depression: Psilocybin.

Pretty much saved my life.

Results of the world's largest clinical trial of psychedelic medicine will be released by the end of the year. Here is the trial: https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT03775200

Clinical trials are done in safe, monitored environments with controlled dosages and professionals at hand. Straight up recommending psychedelics to fight suicidal depression is quite careless although well intentioned. I'm a big advocate for psychedelics, work in harm reduction and volunteer in drug law reform based stuff aswell as lobbying to make pill testing legal at events. I'm of the Erowid generation. I've watched too many people try and self medicate personal traumas and other issues with psychedelics and the outcome is not always nice. For myself it worked wonders, but a lot of people aren't ready to have experiences of that kind of depth and a lot of people don't have access to help with the integration process if it is needed afterwards.
