Stupid Old Shoes (that you can't let go of)
« on: January 16, 2026, 04:41:57 AM »

Clyde Singleton 4CE pro shoes.

Still love these things. They look like Cornish pasties but they were like wearing a pair of house slippers. I keep them in a box next to a pair of suede brogues I bought in Italy on a whim which look the business but are like wearing bear traps after fifteen minutes.

Pinnacle of 00's puffy shoe era IMO. In a world of D3's I looked, well fucking ridiculous as well actually but in a completely different way.  Did not skate them as they felt like they gave zero board feel. I remember being very happy in life at the time I was wearing them.

Anyone else got any stupid old shoes with a niche factor that keeps you hanging on to them? So much the better if it was from a short lived shonky company.

Clark's Wallabee skate shoe. Shoe designs were crazy back then for sure. Like lets take a shoe that I like to wear while im not skating and turn that design into a skate shoe. Lots of basketball and running shoe inspired designs.

Totally. Times were wild and there were so many out-on-a-limb designs. I also had a pair of Wallabees before I bought them, which is probably why I bought them. But it was so obvious they just added Wallabee elements to a shoe template they already had and created this fucking unicorn. I mean the wallabee template still works for I-Path, they just did it 'better'.

Those Clydes are wild!

These are my go-to-the-mountain shoes, got 'em in 2013 from Ross when iPath first folded for like $20.

Water resistant extra high iPath Cats, shearling lined with 3 velcro straps that won't hold the tongue in place. For me these are dope and perfect for what I use them for. But what the hell? Let's make a shoe that's pretty good for riding in cars, but only if it's cold out.

Those are brilliant. The perfect blend of failed practicality and a great design pushed too far until it's basically a wasteland mutant version of the OG. They do look the business with snowboard pants though, which I guess is as intended. Five star contribution mate, totally love 'em.

Those 4CE's are freaky haha. You need a full khaki outfit for those. Pushing round the streets holding baked pastry goods to top it off

:) Why not. Always wanted to look like a giant poo and deliver buns to randos. But only pastries topped with sweetcorn or with a drippy chocolate filling.

That's pretty great phrasing to describe clod hoppers. Looks like they came out near the end of the Skytop's peak, probably had an influence.

This is a good idea for a thread, with all the shoe fetishists on here I'd think there'd be more posts.

Definitely need an Ice Cube meets Steve Irwin Dickies fit for those 4ce.

It might be a slow burner. I think you have to be one of those people with the means to hoard store stuff and I realise a lot of people don't have space to keep the weirder shit nowadays. But yea I'm sure there are certainly others with shoestrosities lurking in a box / chained up in the basement.

I used to have a pair of Jason Dill Vitas like in the photo but with dayglo lime fabric panels and lace loops which were certainly 'of their era'. But the glue on the sole died so I traded them to a Japanese dude for a box of stationary and a Casio. I'm not sure who came out better in that deal. ;D

Bought at least 8 pairs of these sanuks when they closed them out. These are the full rick astley for me: never gonna give you up.

Even skated through 2-3 pairs despite them being about the worst mesh material for skate shoes.

Edit: if I saw those extra-hi ipaths in a 14 today, would cop.
